Parents should have patience to play with children

I surely agree with you that we need to develop patience in playing with our kids. There is a saying that says, "the family that plays together stays together." Well, there is some truth to this. If you recall, is there a time during your younger days that your parents play with you and you enjoy? I understand that today's world became busy and parents are in a hurry to get to work. But as you've said, it would be good to spend some time with our kids playing!

I do agree with you.. I feel it can be extremely difficult to find time to sit with my kids and play with them. But when I am done with work I try and get at least 30 minutes just to play with him... Even if it means to tickle him or watch his favorite movie.. I feel it could be very easy to say Not now maybe later, but I will always make an effort to find alittle time.

I am dealing with this problem right now even as I type this. We are at church and she has been playing with some of the other chldren but they all have left so now she wants my computer or me to play with her. My child is with me most of the time, she is 7 and gets bored quite often. I try to do things with her but of course she has much more energy than me. I have fibromyalgia which zaps my energy even more. Sometimes I feel so sorry for her I try and push myself a bit more (like paying soccer the other day) but it is really hard. Either that or I'm pressed for time because I am trying to earn money online or do other chores. It's times like these that I wish she had a brother or sister around.
