Surrender to what is?

Surrendering to the will of God really is submitting to the teachings of His prophets. Without faith, no prophet would be believed, hence no surrendering to any will of an unseen god. Thus, anybody with faith in God will truly surrender to His will. To them, such a surrender will be truly gratifying and comforting.

However, for those that have some doubts about the existence of God or about His prophets, their surrender, if at all, will be half-hearted and fake. They will profess it without actually feeling it. To them, the fake claim of surrender will not gratify or comfort them. Nobody gets comfort from non-total believe.

Okay. Though I have not understood your "logic", let me explain what I feel on this question through an imaginary example:

I have a dream holiday trip to make to an exotic place. I save money for it over the years, plan my trip meticulously for my entire family, buy air tickets, book hotel accommodation -- everything. Just half an hour before my departure, I get a phone call that one of my closest and dearest relative has met with an accident and is hospitalized under critical condition. Now I have to cancel everything and rush to the hospital.

My travel plans, saving money for it, booking tickets, accommodation etc etc were all under my will. But the accident of the relative happening at the nick of the moment and the news reaching me is according to God's will.
I am duty-bound to take care of the relative, pay for his hospital expenses and nurture him back to health. I have this moral commitment to him, because he has been so close to me. If I had not done it, it would have been a painful issue right through my life.

Yes. The cancellation of the Holiday trip and the consequent disappointment, loss of money etc too are somewhat painful. But as a believer in God, when I think of it deeply, I could appreciate and digest the fact that it is after all God's will that I had to cancel the holiday trip for the sake of the accident victim.

That I had the opportunity to take care of him is much more meaningful and important to my spiritual well-being than enjoying the holiday. In retrospect, surrendering to this God's will is the most reassuring feeling to me.

In this case, how on earth "it implies that that I already know the will of God?". How do "I cease to exist?" How have I "surrendered to my own projection?"Though the above is only an imaginary example, you can't say such things are not possible. Such things do happen in lives day in day out.

In so many occasions in my life, many things happen contrary to my plans and schemes and if I analyze them peacefully, God's will behind them becomes obvious. Such happenings strengthen our belief in God and also gives us better balance of mind -- we do not anticipate too much; we do not expect results too quickly; we do not think everything will workout to our selfish desires. The more the surrender to the higher will comes, the more peace and tranquility we get in our lives.

It cannot be theorized by intellectual hair-splitting. It has to be experienced.

If you are surrendring yourself against some higher body then it is ok, otherwise it is you are surrendring to your lower one then think more about this.
