What was your last home improvement project that you did yourself. I currently am re-doing our bedroom. We went from pale blue walls to tourquise walls with a green carpeting. I'm now trying to fiture out what color drapes to get. ANY SUGGESTIONS????

ah mrsjumppuppy. my husband and i are remodeling. we are just finishing the living / dining rooms. we are doing it ourselves, or should i say he is. i'm the one redoing the stairwell and hallway. i ripped up the carpeting and am taking it down to the natural wood. our next is to redo our sunroom, spare room, our room, laundry room, and then he wants to build a family room in the basement. if you come and help us, we'll come and help you!!!!! i like the color scheme. try looking for creme drape and then add a valance with the colors. a paisley would look fantastic. i think against the window you will need something brighter to make the walls pop. i'd love to see the picture when you are done. good luck

Thanks for the suggestion fritz27, I will try creme and see how it looks. Isn't it amazing, the snowball effect of remodeling. You start in one room and before you know it.....well this room is off of the one we just did and it now doesn't look as nice so lets do that one next!! And so on and so on. Thank you for the great suggestions and reply.

I haven't done any improvements recently though I would like to have new flooring down in the kitchen to replace my vinyl flooring and I would like to get a new air/heating system to replace my other system. New windows would be nice as well. Light blue drapes seems nice to me or most any light color but I would not get red.

Thank you Kgwat70, I ruled out red & burgundy already. I'm trying to find some odd shade of blue/green mixed. Its hard!! I did my kitchen 3 yrs ago and with put in a floating floor, it is really nice! I re-did the furnace & AC probably 8 yrs ago, one of the best investments I could have made. I had new windows put in 2 yrs ago and they made a huge difference in our heating bills. I know the age old $$$ problem. You just have to do it, it pays off in the long run. Thanks!!
