Richard Cheney~Called on the White House~ Make Public Other Part Of The Memos |
|
Former vise president Richard Cheney has asked the white house to release the other part of the memos they have with held from the public. The former vise president believes the white house should release the resat of the torture documents to the American people,do you agree? (STORY @ LINK BELOW) Following the Obama administration's controversial release of memos that approved of interrogation techniques for terrorism suspects, former Vice President Cheney has called on the White House to make public additional documents that reveal the interrogations yielded crucial results for U.S. national security."One of the things that I find a little bit disturbing about this recent disclosure is they put out the legal memos, the memos that the CIA got from the Office of Legal Counsel, but they didn't put out the memos that showed the success of the effort," Cheney said. He made the comments during an exclusive interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity. The second part of the interview airs tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern. Cheney told Hannity he believes the documents would show the country just how successful the interrogation techniques were. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=95730

America was justly proud of its humanism, before He and Bush rolled out the Torture Chamber. A couple of hundred years ago it was justifiable to cut off the hand of a hungry child for stealing a loaf of bread. This is only slightly more Barbaric than Cheney feels is appropriate today.

It seems like only yesterday he was saying nothing should be made public for national security reasons now he wants the whole shebang declassified. I detect a game of CYA in progress but I don't think it's going to work.
Do you also find his statements about not knowing much about alQaeda prior to 9/11 a bit disturbing despite the warnings and information they'd been given by the Clinton Administration and others like Richard Clark? Annie

3. Barb42 (2708) | 9 months ago | This is all political. Everything in this administration has political overtones! They want to show how bad it was, not that the administration had great results with the way they treated the terrorists. You can't go soft on your enemies! But, apparently that's what is going to happen from now on. The ability to keep the plans of the FBI and CIA secret from the world are down the tube. I believe, as many people have said on television, that this was a wrong move and it just gives the terrorists ways of learning to not give information when they are caught. They learn how to live through anything that is done to them. What I don't understand is why we are cutting out the effective ways to treat these people; yet the terrorists groups hang our people by their feet, cut off their heads - but we must be KIND to our prisoners, don't offend another country.
