once in a while. Sometimes it's really good giggly stuff, other times, heart-wrenching and miserable.

I prefer the giggly, obviously. As for the bad stuff, one way I've found to get to sleep is to just breathe, and remind myself that there are some things in this world that I have absolutely no control over, and that worrying about them accomplishes nothing whatsoever.

Oh, often enough that it sometimes feels weird when I can just go to bed. xD
Sometimes it's angsty, tear-ridden, angry, or generally troubled thoughts that refuse to leave me alone...other times it's excitement, mushy-giggly-uncontrollable joy other times.

I'll just lay there struggling with it, for awhile, but after that I'll try to soothe my brain, distract and calm myself, until I ca drift off.

Doesn't always work, alot of that can make me incredibly energetic and restless, which is a huge bane for my rest -- besides my overactive brain.
But meh.

Hello Pinkon4u,

Yes, it can get overwhelming. Sometimes it's completely intolerable, and you'll toss and turn or cry yourself to sleep, or similar. It's not an unusual thing- countless people have experienced such an irritation.

I too prefer the light content that keeps you awake, as at least it's positive. For the negative, or the positive really, I just shut it out. You're tired, you need your sleep, and the logic that I tell myself is that stressing over, say, an exam, isn't going to help you pass it the following day. Or maybe you're worried about a family member- worrying now isn't going to help. So just count sheep (which never helps in my case, but maybe for some people it does) or clear your mind. It can be very easy when you KNOW you're tired and your body tells you it's tired.

Most of the time i get a good night`s sleep and it is very rare that i am sleepless throughout the night. If i am feeling unwell then i have either a fitful sleep or no sleep at all but it is once in a blue moon and very rare. Usually nothing disturbs me so much that i can`t sleep at all because of it and even if something really happens then i try not to think about it at night. If i don`t get sleep i never take any sleeping pills which i totally abhor.

The thought is there. I think sometimes i think too much. its so that I am not able to sleep at all. Mostly these give me huge tension.

Yes it happens every time when exams nears us . We tend to have so much in our mind that we forget to have a sound sleep and just sleeping becomes a formality as we tend to think and have in our mind just studies.lol
