Is it possible to be open minded and opinionated?

You are right, when you are open-minded, you are willing to accept others opinions and criticisms and also your mistakes or in your own words, you are teachable. I know I'm open minded. I don't get to jusged people easily and I see to it that I first put myself on their shoes before I comment but I got to be very opinionated too if I'm too tired of thinking and if I'm busy, I get pissed off and I don't think anything at all and be impulsive on what I think towards anyone.

If you are opinionated, you get to blabber first before you think.
If you are open minded, you got to think first before you talk.
That's mu definition.

I think the definition of being open-minded is that you are willing to change your strong opinions easily, rather than remain attached to them even if they are proved wrong.

I believe it's possible to have these strong opinions and still be open-minded, flexibility being at the core rather than having insubstantial opinions.

I think you can be open minded and have an opinion, but opinionated in my mind means that you are of your opinions only and wont accept the notion of anyone elses.. so i guess if you look at it that way you can't be both. I have opinions on certain things.. morals, goals, ideals.. but those are for my person and my family.. i am fairly openminded to other peoples opinions.. i try not to judge.. and put myself into other peoples shoes when they are talking.. look at the situation or conversation from all angles.. its sometimes hard though.

Opinionated actually means stubbornly holding on to ones opinions. I dont think an opinionated person can be open minded.

I think you have opinions which you believe in but are prepared to change them if you see that you may be wrong. I know what you mean when you say you are opinionated its just not a good description of yourself as it is a bit negative whereas you are obviously open minded.

Hey Trensue! I am also very opinionated! But, I am also very
open minded too! So, yes that does mean that we are still
willing to learn and are teachable which is a good thing!
At least we aren't close minded and not willing to learn
new things and we can admit when we are wrong which alot
of people can't and won't do!

I believe open mined meanes you will at least listen to what other people say or think.
