Toothpaste. That's the only one that comes to mind right off hand, you can use it to brush your teeth, it's not the best tasting but it's supposed to clean teeth real good.

Know that you mention it, when I was young my Mom had one of these in the refrigerator too.
Why is it in the refrigerator?
I know of soda. I use that if I have a deep cut and it is infected. I boil water and then put soda in it. I soak the wound as hot as possible. Then within two days it would normally be gone. It is great.

you can use it in your hair it gets it cleaner than just shampoo i found this out when i was a kid my hair kept falling out my mom thought cancer or something so i seen 26 dr and then one told me to make a paste out of it and use it to wash my hair with so i did and to my suprise my hair stopped falling out and it all grew back it's because it cleans all the way in the scalp and keeps hair looking strong and shinny.

I use it to brush my teeth..I take a small container and add some baking soda, a little salt and some peppermint extract for flavor..Other than missing the foaming action of toothpaste, it is much better than putting fluoride in my system..Plus, since I changed, I noticed that my teeth look much whiter than before..

It is good to make a paste and put it on poision oak, bug bites, bee stings and it will clean lots of things.Put it in with your cloths to wash.Good for sun burns.I have used it in many ways.

I sometimes used to sprinkle it over the carpet about 15 minutes before I would vacuum it. I don't have carpets to do that with now. Other than that I never really used it for anything else but baking.

Well besides using it as a rinse after brushing my teeth, I use it when something sticks or gets burnt on in a pot or pan, it works really well and you don't have to do a lot of scubbing.

My hubby uses it to mix in a glass of water if he has an upset stomach. It does work like a charm but I couldn't do that. It has to be right nasty tasting so instead, I'll take sodium bicarbonate tablets which is nothing but baking soda in a tablet. It takes a little bit longer to work than powdered baking soda but tastes much better. lol I also have a box in the fridge and freezer too to keep the smell down.

Baking soda has a wide variety of uses including but not limited to what those above me have posted;)

The uses i know of are:

Carpet Deoderizer
Soothe a Sunburn
Clean up spills
Fire Extinguisher
Spray for Fungus growing on rose bushes

You can add a little water to it and it'll act like soft scrub for cleaning. Also it's good for ladyparts putting a dash in your bath.
