I have my long hair trimmed couple times this year, it was long almost reach my butt. Because the end of the hair was so damaged, I have it cut 5-6 inches total, and now I feel it is growing really slow, do you guys know if they are any method make it grow faster like eating some certain things make it grow faster or put something on the hair? Thanks for sharing!

I have waist length hair and whenever my ends start looking dry between trims I use natural conditioners. I would be so upset to lose 5 inches because of damage! I'm so sorry for your loss :( But it will grow back. Keep up with trimming your ends and try some of these natural treatments for your hair...healthy hair will grow faster. There are recipes and instructions at this link for a bunch of great hair conditioners that are cheap and easy to make... http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/124632/natural_ways_to_moisturize_and_condition.html?cat=5 I hope this helps! Have a great day! :)

The easy method of growing hair is to apply coconut oil (hair oil). The oil nourishes the hair so well that the growth is rapid. Apply the oil on a daily basis. Apply the oil before bathing.

If you apply shampoo , then applying coconut oil is a waste. Whenever you do not apply shampoo, you can apply coconut oil. After bathing also , you can apply coconut oil.

i don't know if it's a fact but i heard that the hair can grow up to 2 cms in a month. and the fact that you have cut 5-6 inches means, you're looking at 8 months (at least) to have it grown back to its original length. a nice trim every now and then is good for the hair. i have long hair. and it grows awfully fast. since last december 2008, i've had my hair cut 4 times and still, it's as long as i had in december. i had bangs too, cut twice since december, now i can tuck it behind my ear. people at the salon has been asking me what i'm feeding to my hair. -lol- i simply say that i wash it everyday, comb it only once a day using a comb... but i do have a habit of running my fingers thru my hair and apply a gentle massage on the scalp... it helps me relax after a tiring day. i've never tried any hair solutions on my hair except the regular shampoo and occasional conditioner... oh, i'd almost forgotten... i did the vco thing 3 times in the past few months. virgin coconut oil, i forgot the brand. i let it stay overnight... not a great smell but wonderful after you wash hair... it's definitely softer. but i didn't use it for the purpose of growing my hair faster. hehe try what i did and see if it can work for you. otherwise, simply wait some more... your hair will grow back soon. :)

Hi there, well my advice would be to eat foods which are high in protein as the main thing which makes up human hair is just that - protein. So if you want your hair to grow long, and most importantly healthy, try to have a protein-rich diet. In addition if you exercise regularly, you will also encourage hair growth as your scalp will heat up and promote quicker hair growth. Good luck!

No...only think that I can think of is that you started new diet or started using a new product around the time you cut your hair. 99,9% of what I think is going on here is that you are noticing the hair everyday now after you cut it. Everytime you check the mirror you are now (after the cutting) noticing and getting bugged about the length of your hair. This means that your brain is registering the actually length and storing the information in your brain. I you where not bugged about the hair lenght your brain would not "save the information* one time a day or how every many time you check this. Before you cut the hair your brain just register the hair lengths pretty much just as usual the information u brain even botherd saving about hair lenght is miniscule and we are talking once a mounth if even that. This is giving the illution of the that your hair is not growing Like it is today your brain is regesteing hair lenght 5 times a day and saving it also to memeory. Before your cut the hair your brain mostly register "same as usual" hair lenght and actully storing this information about lets say 1 a mounth. Simply put before you cut the hair, hairlenght was basicly useless to your brain and did not bother storing the information about it. Now it storing information 5 times a day.

hmmm thank you for your explanation. I try not to look at it everyday and say OH so short oh so short but the other thig is because my hair very thick so when it grows longer, I don't really realize it since it is a big layer.

wow! that's some long hair LOL i can see why it feels like your hair is growing really slowly, you chopped off a good chunk of it. i don't know about specific foods that would make your hair grow faster but i do know that when you trim your hair constantly it makes your hair grow faster. good luck with it

I wonder it is growing slow is because all the end damaged hair is eating the nutrients... :-( but I don't want to keep cutting more and more.

i read castor oil makes the hair grow faster. this includes the eyelashes. i tried it on both and they really did grow faster . however, castor oil gives me headaches for reasons i haven't foud out yet in research. once you get your hand on a bottle of castor oil, readily available in pharmacies since they treat some illnesses, better mix it with a little extra virgin olive oil since castor oil is really thick.

How about oiling your hair weekly? Have you tried doing this? I've heard the mixture of olive oil, curd and egg is very good for hair conditioning and growth. Try doing it once weekly if you can. If not you can just apply some oil to your hair once or twice a week, let's see if it brings some change.
