we have all had a crisis of faith at one point in our life. some people pull thru it and go back to the way it was, some people pull thru but it changes the way they believe and some people quit believing altogether. you can't force yourself to believe in anything but i hope something happens for you that restores your faith.

Ya may not believe this but the faith that it takes to even believe.. has to come from God.. not you. Ask him for the faith to believe. I will also pray for that for you too.

It is a lonely feeling.. I know that feeling after turning away from God out of sheer frustration and sadness and grief .. It was a very lonely feeling.

Promise me that if you ever feel like talking about this.. that you will let me know.. we can find somewhere to chat.... ok?

Hi mykl~ I kind of know what you mean, although it's really
hard for me to admit it. I want to believe that there is
someone up there somewhere listening to me and my prayers,
but sometimes I just wonder if my words are falling on deaf
ears, or no ears! So I have to ask myself if there really is
a God. Am I really talking to someone? Is someone listening
and hearing what I'm saying? Do they have any intention of
helping me? I feel so empty inside sometimes as if I am talking
to myself and I too feel lonely. Do I really believe that there
is someone out there called "God"? If there is then why isn't
my prayers being answered? Why can't I feel the presence of
another? Why do I still feel all alone?

I believe you are right. It would suck to not have belief in God. Since you say you used to believe and now you don't I have to ask, what happened to destroy your belief?

I have been through the same thing, once believing and then the loneliest feeling in the world. For me that feeling did not change to lack of faith but to anger. I still had faith that there was a Higher Power or a God but I decided that he or she must be a mean S.O.B. to send all these troubles my way and why the heck weren't any of my prayers being answered?

The anger got really bad. I blamed God for absolutely everything my sad childhood, my crappy relationship, my lack of money, you name it....and then someone close to me died and that was it, I decided that the relationship I had with "the man upstairs" was well and truly over.

Have things changed for me now? I still get angry but I came to an interesting realisation that the power is in me not an outside "being". I am the one that can create miracles I can smile at another and the smile I get back can indeed change my day. Then there's my child of course, she softens my heart with her big blue eyes.

I don't have any answers Mykl I figure there has to be someone running this show, there are way too many things that are out of our control; if we are not in charge who is? So many terrible things happen to people every day but there are a lot of amazing miracles too, I just know there are! Someone mentioned praying for faith, now there's an idea...

These days I am inclined to think that perhaps I should stop looking and start being the best that I can be, maybe, just maybe God may take me aside and say,'Ok now can we start living or what?"

My brother went thru this when we were all caring for my mom. On really bad days, he'd swear at God and all the while saying that he did not believe. I'm not sure what i believe but I do believe there is something beyond this life we have here. I worked for a medium when I was very young and I'm convinced. After my dad passed I heard from him just once and no one could convince me that I didn't. It was the strangest thing and I was wide wide awake. You need hugs? Big bear hug for you!

When god not answer our calling, it feels empty but i never give up to calling. I knew god have another reason and have a good plan for me.

I am truly sorry to hear you have nothing to believe in. How empty you must feel. Without faith, regardless of what your religion is, is to be without hope. IMO you cannot force yourself to believe in a higher power it must come from within and always be a part of you. I do not believe in organized religion as it is made by man for man and not for God. I shall pray for you that you will find your higher power.
