want informaton about bed sheets |

My husband had a stroke and now it seems he is ultra sensitive and feels any wrinkle, speck of dirt on his back and his legs. Why he is worse then me and I am the "princess in the pea" that I could feel a pebble at the bottom of ten mattresses (long time since I read that nursery rhyme). Now to make thing worse, he wants sheets that do not stick to him and are not slippery yet they cannot feel rough. So what kind of sheets would you recommend, plain cotton, cotton mix,or percale?

1. byfaithonly (6302) | 8 months ago | This may sound a little strange but because of a discussion here on mylot a couple years ago I totally changed my thinking on bed sheets. I can't remember now who's discussion it was or who suggested this but they commented that they slept on flannel sheets year round - I didn't own a set but thought they were just for cold weather months. NOT, I got a set, loved them so had to get a second set to trade out. I too am a princess and the pea girl and even with the flannel if there is one little bitty nub I have to 'shave' it off or will drive me crazy.

suspenseful (17121) | 8 months ago | That's the same with me. They have to be smooth and now my husband is feeling the way because of his stroke, his nerves are all going crazy. So I will check the flannel sheets, but it would be a bit warm in summer.

byfaithonly (6302) | 8 months ago | That's what I thought too about the flannel they would be too warm in the summer but their not at all - I don't always cover up but our nights are usually on the cool side so it's nice to have just the top sheet to cover up with. The bottom sheet doesn't feel at all warm though - comfortable:)

2. dragon54u (9642) | 8 months ago | The higher the thread count, the smoother and softer the sheet. I have 700 thread count right now but a few years ago I got 400 thread count and they were nearly as soft as satin sheets. They were easy to move around on and yet not slippery like satin so they were easy to keep on, they didn't slide off. You can find them at outlet stores online.

suspenseful (17121) | 8 months ago | We bought some 400 sheet cotton percale, and just changed the bed from our permanent press cotton. So hope it is all right. I just do not like ironing bad sheets though.

7. Lindalinda (2925) | 8 months ago | Cotton seems to be the best. The higher the thread count the better the quality. Also as someone suggested fitted bottom sheets made from knitted stretch material do not move or cling to a person. They feel soft and warm.

| 8. evaloua32347 (12) | 8 months ago | I have venetian cotton. They are the best sheets i have ever had. Love the flannel sheets also. They are not hot in the summer either. I have restless leg syndrome which means i don't sleep alot because of the spasms and pain in my legs. The venetian cotton doesn't stick or anything. You can get these at walmart, they are not too expensive. Find them on sale which is better for me. Anyway, hope you good luck in finding the perfect sheet for your hubby.

10. cynthiann (3101) | 8 months ago | I bought some Martha Stewart cotton sheets that were on sale when I was with my daughter. I wish that I had bought more sets of sheets as they are the best that I have ever used. I live in a hot country and these sheets so not stick to me and are ultra smooth. I would recomment them to anyone. check out if you can get some of this brand on sale. They are spectacular - so soft. I have taken to using me all the time., they are washed, dried and put back on my bed!
