Do your cats lay in odd places? |
|
My cats like to sleep in trees. I have outdoor cat and I also have trees with holes in them. Angel likes to nap in a hole. Patch use to climb up in one. Yesterday I got a picture of Eric and Angel poking their heads out of a hole in a tree. Where is the strangest place your cats sleep?

1. beautyqueen26 (9127) | 8 months ago | OMG!! I thought my cats were the only ones to do silly stuff like that. My EB (female cat) got under the counter last night. And I went to get her out cause I thought she would have an accident under there and she gave me the woeful look like, "Mommy, please let me stay!"
It broke my heart.

Ruthep (5928) | 8 months ago | We ha Cali who like to nap in trees but she'd curl up on a wide branch not in a hole. Cats are silly.

beautyqueen26 (9127) | 8 months ago | My Big Man would be a limb sleep except for the fact that he is terrified of the outdoors. He was a stray when we found him and he never got over the experience of living outdoors.
| |
|
|
Ruthep (5928) | 8 months ago | I don't think they ever do. Sparkle was born outside and we brought her in but now she is out. I think she was truly meant to be an outdoor kitty.

|
|
beautyqueen26 (9127) | 8 months ago | When Big Man was a kitty, we took him to a state park and tried to let him run around, like a puppy. What a mistake!
He totally ran for the closest tree and was so scared. There was a field of cows that he almost ran into.
And I kept calling his name.
It was cute, but sad.
He didn't go out after that.
Even for moving we have to put him in his pet carrier to get him out of the door and even then, we use the dog sized pet carrier cause he doesn't like to be confined.

|
|
Ruthep (5928) | 8 months ago | Pet carriers are great. Cats are hard to hold onto sometimes.
| |
|
|
beautyqueen26 (9127) | 8 months ago | A number of years back, we had to move and I didn't even know about pet carriers. I think I just carried him out and he was scratching all over me.
Poor baby was scared.

|
Ruthep (5928) | 8 months ago | If you don't have a carrier pick them up by the neck. They can't really get you than. It's how their momma always carried them.

2. derlilaStern (1294) | 8 months ago | My cat's favorite place to sleep is in my husband's lap! It drives my husband crazy. Other than that, he loves to sleep on the windowsill behind the curtains where no one can see him. He is a strictly indoor cat, otherwise I am sure he would be climbing trees all of the time.
That picture sounds like it would be adorable! Did you post it anywhere so that we can see it?

beautyqueen26 (9127) | 8 months ago | Sounds like my EB. She loves to sleep in my lap while I post on Mylot. I'm always talking about it.
Well, last year she did that and my hand went numb. Totally weird. It's pretty much better now, but I don't let her sleep in my lap anymore while I'm typing.
Watching TV is another story.

| 3. farmerbrown (34) | 8 months ago | I have 2 cats. My tabby, Kitsie, always sleeps on our garden wall which is very thin so how she keeps her balance only her and her 9 lives know. My other one who is only 4mths old, jane, tends to try and sleep on my husbands head at 3am in the morning and other times she curls up with our jack russel for a nap.

Ruthep (5928) | 8 months ago | My mil has cats and they sleep on her head too. I don't know how cats sleep some places.

|
beautyqueen26 (9127) | 8 months ago | LOL! My EB used to sleep on my pillow at the top of my head. I think they do it for the warmth, cause heat leaves through the scalp. Or, so I've heard.

4. muscles4me (8590) | 8 months ago | both of my cats are inside cats. They really do not sleep any place strange but my male cat loves to sit in the bath tub. Whenever I can not find him that is the first place I look.

Ruthep (5928) | 8 months ago | The cat I grew up with did that. In the summer, that was the cool spot and she was always in there.

5. pyewacket (11587) | 8 months ago | I'm assuming your kitties have no trouble in getting down from the trees..LOL Well my cats have always been indoor cats, and yes, they manage to find some odd places to sleep....Pyewacket is up in the kitchen cabinet over the refrigerator as I write this. Also, I HAD to keep the middle section of my bookcase headboard clear....so much for putting books there, as he likes to snooze there as well.
Kissy seems to be more inventive and likes to get behind the space of my computer desk and also manages to crawl under the dresser (how she manages that I'll never know as she's a bit...uh, chubby)---she also loves to get into one of my closets and sleep there. I now have to check it before I close the closet since of the latest episode that made me feel guilty. The other night I went to bed as usual, thinking nothing of it...about eight hour later I get up, and start fixing breakfast and of course feed the kitties...Pyewacket was in the kitchen with me and didn't notice Kissy around, but then I figured she was in one of her other spots. All of a sudden I hear this strange scratching sound coming from the closet...yup--you guessed it...Kissy. Which meant she had been in there the whole time....I felt so guilty. Of course, Kissy was milking it for all it was worth and just LOVED the extra attention I was giving her.

Ruthep (5928) | 8 months ago | I bet she did. Lacey always loved getting underneath our big entertainment center. I was always afraid she'd get stuck so I have old towels stuffed under there so she can't do that anymore. It is big and cherry so if she did get stuck I'd never be able to move it and get her out. My mom used to shut our cat in the basement, not knowing she went down there when we went to get something. Goofy cats.

| 8. ingridrepi (85) | 8 months ago | I have a kitty who sleeps next to the rice cooker/warmer. And the mother sleeps in the book cabinet. Before that the mother slept on top of my dvd player. So, when I played dvd, the machine sounds like a motor running. What a nasty cat!:)

Ruthep (5928) | 1 month ago | I have never heard of that one. I have an outdoor cat that gets on the C/A unit outside, but when it starts she gets off. I think cats will lay anywhere and be comfortable. Wish I could do that.
