I am just a little saddened by the film this depicts. But I guess it is really happening on our place here. This film was presented in Berlin in Feb of 2006 which I think got the most popular award. http://www.cultureunplugged.com/play/1081/Chicken-a-la-Carte

That's the reality. It really hurts. It will bring you tears. The disturbing thing though is, are you angry or thankful for those who wasted their food and bring laughter to those who were blessed by the trashes? Are you happy that those hungry people can at least have another meal or sad that they don't know how to look for a more decent meal? Thanks for sharing the link @rsa101. I do hope that others' eyes will be open when they saw the video. We often think of our misfortunes that we forgot that others are living in a more destitute condition. We grumble yet those people still made a time to thank God for whatever they have.

Very nice thought provoking questions you have there. I am disturb that this is happening in our place. But asking me if I am angry or thankful for that? It's kind of hard to answer right now, because its a mixture of both that you can feel from within. You are slightly happy that there's no food wasted but still sad and angry that we are allowing that to happen to our fellow human. Why does this happen is hard to come by because there are many factors that lead to that and somehow we have been part of it somehow directly or indirectly.

I am sure many of us can do nothing to change such situation. However, there are still things we can do to help alleviate the situation of others. At home, we can teach the kids to be conscientious on what they do. There should be no wastage of foods. Old clothes can either be turned into rags or to be given to other who needed them. Those are just small things but it helps somehow to have more people thinking of others and not just for themselves. Oh, thanks for the BR.

I don't like watching movies like those... makes me feel very sad after the film... sadder because there is very little that i can do for those people... i admire those who use their talents in making a difference by telling the world about the story of those who are suffering...

i saw this link and indeed it is very disturbing, this shows me how grateful i should be for the small mercies and not take anything for granted.i have been taught to value food right from my childhood,i think it as very gross when i see someone wasting their food.
