Well when I saw the very beginning part I must say I totally agree with you, imagine if he had fallen and been impaled by those railings?! but you gotta admit he is very good and will go far with that talent.
I climbed trees myself right enough, but never jumped from one to the other!
Yes, getting older and being more aware of the possible pain...I think maybe that fear makes us tense up more, making us more rigid is what causes the bones to break. If you've ever noticed kids falling downstairs are usually ok, because they don't understand what's happening to them so are totally relaxed.
I'm glad you felt at home in Edinburgh and hope you will come again, who knows maybe we will meet one day in the future!

Being 'not really good' is far better than not being able to ride one at all.. that's me LOL and he is bound to make many bikers envious. That was the best part of it, his sheer determination to master it, I take my hat off to him and left him a short comment letting him know how much I admired him. thanks for responding

Isn't he fantastic?! it's really me in disguise At least you can ride a bike! I used to be able to... now I know that statement breaks all the rules, because whenever someone needs to re-learn something people will say.. "It's like riding a bike, you never forget how" well I did forget! I got on one again when I was pregnant and fell off, so gave it up. Then again a few years ago to try and lose weight, but I couldn't bend my flippin knee with the arthritis!

Alice, riding my bike has helped tremendously with my own arthritic knees! It's so very good for you, and the coolest thing is that it's FUN! I love riding my bike! And my legs! My legs could rival Lance Armstrong's own. They're like rocks, and they're the only slender thing on me!! lol, but true! And sure you fell off! So what? Now that you're not pregnant, get back on that horse! Er, bicycle! I promise, if you do, you'll love it. After the initial nervousness wears off, you'll love it, and want to ride it all the time, like I do. No kidding. Oh, yes, and hugs to you too, darlin!

Believe me I want to Nova, I would be so free to go loads of places. Once ... and I do mean once.. at the gym I went on one of the exercise bikes and because of the style of the bike I only had to bend my knee so far.. now if they could design a bike like that there would be no stopping me! who is Lance Armstrong? so you got sexy pins huh? good for you hunni, well deserved i bet.

Skateboards can be lethal, I have a scar on my arm from a fall off when one I was younger. We never had any skateboard parks when I was a lad so we would end up making our own ramps and stuff.

Another famous Scot, my friend moved to Coathill, thanks for sharing that info and the link. What amazed me was he didn't even look at his rear wheel when lining the bike up to cross the railings The best games come from setting them up as kids and sharing, bruises n all. I loved the old tandems, they were romantic.
