GPS Satellite Readings For Every Front Door In The Nation |
| |
| Very interesting information to check out if you have enjoyed your privacy as an American citizen most of your life. According to information in this article American citizens may have no say in regard to this GPS satellite tracking system that will take readings from you front door. Read the article and investigate for yourself then you decided if this is some thing you would want to live with, leave a comment if you would like to. GPS satellite According to an online Yahoo program, the Global Position System coordinates for the White House, probably one of the best-known publicly-owned buildings in the world, are 38.898590 Latitude and -77.035971 Longitude. And since you know that, it's no big deal for the White House to know the coordinates for your front door, is it? Some people think it is, and are upset over an army of some 140,000 workers hired in part with a $700 million taxpayer-funded contract to collect those GPS readings for every front door in the nation. The data collection, presented as being in preparation for the 2010 Census, is pinpointing with computer accuracy the locations and has raised considerable concern from privacy advocates who have questioned why the information is needed. They also are more than a little worried over what could be done with that information. Enhancing those concerns is the recent decision in the Obama administration to have White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in an oversight role over the census, which will control a reapportionment of congressional seats and could be used to solidify to a stranglehold a single political party's control over the nation, its budget, military and future (CONTINUED AT LINK BELOW) http://www.worldnetdaily.... | | | | | |

| | I enjoy my privacy, in fact when I get back home to the USA I intend to go after a neighbour who seems to be invading the privacy of my home on a daily basis. I have nothing to hide so it really doesn't bother me what the Government does in order to take a census. I do however think it is wrong. | | | | | | |

| | From my European point of view this GPS system isn't only made for you Americans. Almost all the world is using its data. And their primary purpose seems to be a military and strategic one. But what concerns me more is the overwhelming power of controlling internet information by Google. Couldn't they be owned already by the US governement (or at least have well paid contracts for selling my emails in case they would want to know them)? | | | | | | |

| | Of concern to me is that the same government which is soon going to have everyone's GPS coordinates in a computer, also has smart bombs of several varieties which one can input with any GPS coordinate and have that coordinate struck with certainty. NOTICE: Not saying that is the plan. Just saying the potential for the ultimate abuse of someone's first amendment rights is being made possible. | | | | | | |

| | Let me ask you a question that just popped into my mind while reading this since you seem like a reasonable person. Have you ever used Google Maps? I've used it a few times and have gone to street level views of both my house and my business. In fact, I sent the link to my business to my family in Maryland. When you're at street level you can navigate...turn 180 degrees...go north, south, etc. So, the question that came to mind is...aren't the GPS coordinates already available via this program? | | | |

| | To clarify, I'm talking about the satellite feature where you get views of the actual buildings. They're not real time but they are real views. | | | |

| | I received a notice this morning that covers this very same concern. It is not t he use it will be put to now , but rather the abuse it leaves the door open to in the future. Here is the video to the radio interview where this is discussed http://youtube.com/watch?... The title is US Census Bureau and GPS Targeting. So you know you are not the only one thinking along those lines :) | | | |

| | Other sources of the available GPS coordinates, like google earth, require some effort other than just checking a database. With the data the census is gathering, an airborne fire direction computer could access the info on how to target anyone or their family, almost instantly. Smart bombs need numbers. The census collection of these gps coordinates will make those numbers readily available. | | | |

| | well the GPS unit I own now, I can put any address in and it gets me there. Which is good. My HB got it for me because he said I am geographicly challanged. Meaning I could get lost in a wet paper bag. Basically what they are going to do is use the GPS units to make sure the census people hit every address on their list. Why they are bothering to be so accurate on teh housing I don't know. The very fact that ACORN is involved basically kills any credibility the cencus would have had. This cencus will be used as you say as a political weapon. But I don't know what we can do about it. Personally I am doing some checking. Do we have to answer all their questions when the come? What can they legally ask me? Like can they ask who I vote? Who I voted for ...yet.... I will let you knw what I find out. I plan on just telling them what I am legally required to tell them and nothing more. | | | | | | |

| | You don't have to tell anyone who you voted for. We have secret ballots for a reason. Annie | | | |

| | ya I know but the questionaire usually has on it more than just who lives here and how old are they. This cencus could possible be used as political weapon so I want to give them as little information as possible. | | | |

| | That is exactly what the people who got pulled over for having Ron Paul bumper stickers on their car thought before they were profiled as extremists. I would err on the side of caution, my advice is tread lightly and keep a watchful eye. | | | |
