Is The Beatles the greatest boyband of all time?  

I think they would have to be, they were so talented I really don't think there is any band today or since with that much talent and I am not sure anyone in the future would find it that easy to beat them...

I wouldn't call the Beatles a boyband. Boybands don't write their own music. Boybands generally can't play musical instruments. And most boybands are put together by record companies to cash in on popular trends. Here is Wikipedia's definition of a boyband:

A boy band, written in some countries boys band or boy's band, is a type of pop group featuring several young male singers. The members are generally expected to perform as dancers as well, often executing highly choreographed sequences to their own music. Although there are no distinct traits defining a boy band, one could label a band a "boy band" for following mainstream music trends, changing their appearances to adapt to new fashion trends, having elaborate dance moves, and performing elaborate shows. They can evolve out of church choral or Gospel music groups, but are often put together by talent managers or record producers who audition the groups for appearance, dancing, rapping skills, and singing ability. Boy bands often seem to be prefabricated.

The Beatles was the most seminal rock band of all time. Not only did they alter the course of pop and rock music through their own compositions, they also became iconic figures in pop culture. John Lennon and George Harrison would be turning in their graves if anyone dared call them a boyband.

Not for me. I like Yes better, particularly the early 70s period. They are the only band whose music I can listen to for hours on end. All others, including the Beatles, I have to change after an hour at most.

I think the reason I liked Yes so much was because they were unusual. The Beatles when they started were actually bringing back the 50s sound, the way Rock and Roll used to be before the American music industry was de-rockifying popular music, with "Last Kiss" and "Why Must I Be a Teenager in Love?" and all that syrupy teen romance stuff ...

Then they (the Beatles) got weird (I think it was the Rubber Soul album) and I couldn't stand them anymore, though I did like the Lonely Hearts Club Band.

I wouldn't call them a boyband. But they're most definitely the best band for me! Their music is inspiring and some things they did were never done before. And I think that's so amazing. It's live changing. I have had many occasions where I just had to listen to the Beatles. Whenever, wherever, the Beatles are always welcome :)

They did a lot things first of all,because always were expecting new sounds!
They Went to Philliphines Too!! ..And Played a Concert in 1966!!

Hey, who does not know about the Beatles? THEY ARE THE GREATEST. I like Penny Lane, Come Together and Revolution, and most songs from Beatles For Sale. I love John and Paul.

The beatles are the best band of all time in general! you cant beat them!

I think that they are probably the greatest BAND of all time, but I don't think of them as a BOY BAND - that suggests to me a group that are put together for purely commercial purposes (think of Take That, or The Monkees back in the day). The Beatles were a group of musicians who made it big playing together rather than a manufactured Boy Band.

I am totally in love with them! and YES! They are the greatest boyband of all time! I just love their song Dig a Pony.
