Will You Watch the White House Correspondents Dinner?

Tonight is the annual White House Correspondents Dinner. It's usually at least somewhat entertaining for those of us who can't get enough politics and this year there are more Hollywood celebrities on the guest list than there have been for at least the past 8 years if not ever. Comedian Wanda Sykes will be the host so it surely won't be boring, at least unless she's been warned to keep it clean and non-partisan. Among the show-business celebrities attending will be Ben Afleck, Jennifer Garner, John Cusack, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Felicitiy Huffman, Eva Longoria Parker, Alicia Keyes, Forrest Whittaker, Sting, Jon Bon Jovi, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Whoopie Goldverg, Kevin Bacon and Mariska Hagartay. I'm sure I've forgotten or haven't heard of some others who will be in attendance.
One "star" who will NOT be there is Sarah Palin but her husband Todd is attending in her place and was shown on TV arriving with - SHOCK! - a Fox News reporter as his "date".
Tonight's dinner will be kind of like the Oscars for political junkies. Will you be watching and if so, will it be to see the stars come out or to see what President Obama might say that you can pick on...lol?

sorry I missed it. I had a neighborhood block party thing going on. Lots of fun for the kids (one of the neighbors has an inground pool) and for the adults. I needed a break from the politics for a while and just be a "normal" person.

It is has already been in the 80s here. I have already taken the kids to the beach three times in the past three weeks. It is just 15 minuates down the road so we try to do weekly trips to the beach during spring and early summer before it gets be to be unbearable hot in july and august.

Hey annie! Now that sounds more like a "Roast" then an actual
Correspondents Dinner! What exactly is the real purpose of this
political event anyway? With that all star cast I just can't
understand exactly what the dinner could be about in the first
place! So for my own sake and anyone else who isn't as
"politically correct" as I am, what is a "Correspondent's
Dinner"? Please forgive me annie, but I'm just not as
politically astitute as I guess I should be. lol

I've never watched one of them before so I don't see the need to see this one.

I'd watch it but NASCAR is on. Sometimes they race on Saturday night instead of on Sunday. We all have our priorities you know and I've gotta root for the three J's...Jeff, Jimmie and Jr!

No, I didn't watch it. Frankly I don't see the point of the whole thing.
