hyper active children

it feels good when people compliment u saying that ur baby is hyper active. but sometimes it becomes really difficult to handle the energies of d child.
the biggest question that arises in such situation is:
How to channelize the energy of d child in a positive way?
because it becomes destructive otherwise.
my son is 3yrs old n cause lots of trouble to me as he needs to do something or d another all the time.
i take hime to drawing n dance classes to keep him bussy but he is so insecure that he wants me to sit with him all the time. sometimes teachers does'nt allow parents in the class. this makes the situation worse.
now i hav no other choice except for waiting...{atleast for one more year}
till he becomes stable.
some times i hit him so that he listens to me n do as i m saying.
