Hm, that is kind of a cool image. I like the lily pad in the top right.

If I had taken this photo, I would of wanted to zoom in a bit more and maybe bend down, so to still get some of the lily pad in but to avoid as much of the messy stuff in the water behind and to the left of the flower. Also to try and get closer and less open space around the focal point.
I am not sure what kind of camera you are using. I am assuming digital.
I would of sought out a foliage setting so to bring more color out in the flower, if possible.
Somehow make the colors brighter. Perhaps more aperture or something.
Overall, it is kind of a cool photo and I have rated it+.

I am attaching a photo of the dahlias in my garden, after a spurt of rain.
I like to get right close.
I took it with my small digital and on the foliage setting.

Looks good. The subject is in centre with the maximum focus on it. The leaf on the top appears blurred and it gives it that far away kind of feeling. Maybe you should should have tried out different angles and positions for the subject then and there. I love photography and I have some photos of flowers and such. Check this one out.

i am not a photography expert as well..maybe zoom more a bit..but i love the flowers keep it up

i just wish that you have a zoom lens when you took this photo. i think that it would look better to have a closer look at your subject. other than that the photo looks good.

Flowers make a garden beautiful and gardens make home. I have been always facinated by all sort of flowers and in my home in village ( not where i live now) it has a beautiful garden and i like the roses there are and marigolds too. I think you did a very good job of taking this pic and enjoy what you did because more angles and back ground light and everything you go in to then you start loosing fun out of photography . But i must say you did take a really good pic.

The picture bis the starting point, but you seem to have stopped once the shutter was pressed. I suggest you crop the image to remove most of the water and the distracting leaves. Move the lilly off center for a more dramatic compsition, and boost the saturation slightly.

Next time, try getting down closer to the water level, which will also improve the chances of a strong reflection and give a more interesting point of view.

See, now I would have forgotten my camera. Nice shot. I wouldn't be concerned with open space.
