A parable and a warning for our time?

I do think that books, comics and movies like this, that talk about a possible future society, does play a part in how we think about the future.

One can hope that it doesn't turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy, but rather that it works as a warning for us to take heed in order to prevent it from coming true.

Blowing up parliament isn't a great prospect but if avoids a society like 1984, but it has the strange irony that parliament was meant to stop the monarchy from controlling so much power, yet it turned into what it wanted to stop. Right now the society that is in the film is no where near happening and i don't see any extreme parties gaining any majority any time too soon.

You know, just a week ago I had this thought run into my mind.

There is already a lot of chaos emerging into our life from the political and economical situations. Here in the US, there are a lot of people not confident with the president, the government, and our US dollar. And while these numbers were steady, now that Obama was elected president and because of some of the things he did, these numbers have risen.

I know of a lot of people here in colorado buying lots of guns and ammo. Because when the sh** hits the fan, it's going to hit hard. I can almost smell something like a civil war breaking out again.
