|  Over the past two weeks of plumbing issues, I realized I have learned some life lessons.
First, don't ignore the sound of running water. Not even for one teeny little day.
Second, reddi-rooter sucks. And not in the let-us-get-that-water-from-your-crawlspace way, either.
A shocking number of plumbers are eager to screw over the insurance companies.
A shocking number of plumbers really do flash half their butt when they are squatting, kneeling, or sometimes even just standing.
Irish plumbers in America call pipes "pips". It is charming.
If your plumber says "well look at that!", it is NOT a good sign.
If your plumber says it will be a week long job, expect it to be 2 weeks.
Don't trench your yard when it's raining. If you absolutely have to, be prepared for the fact that you are going to have the ugliest yard on the block.
I want trenchers to be street legal, and then I want to own one.

| | LOL- no joke! There was one of the guys whose crack was so deep you could have used it for smuggling. I really want to ask some of them why they don't get belts- for as much as they charge, I know they can afford it! | | | |

| |  Don't forget that after the first hour you are billed every 15 minutes BUT if its 17 minutes they count it as 30 minutes. They will make sure the pause to pull up their britches(the butt showing thing) and/or wipe their brow of blow their nose just enough times that the one hour and 30 minute job ends up being 2 hours and 3 minutes which mean you pay for 3 hours and 15 minutes. They have no compassion for anyone, rich,poor,ugly,beautiful,white or black. they are not prejudice....They Hate Us All Equally and their work attitude show it.

I got lucky and found two companies that charge by the job, not the hour. So I have my water removal guys, and then the plumber that actually did the work. I know what you are saying though, we had a leak under the sink, and of the $300 bill, 90% of it was labor. | | | |

They over-dramatize the smaller jobs, but suddenly become "Mr. Handyman" with the big ones.

| | We only ignored the problem for one day, and we ended up with almost 2 feet of water under our house.
Mold is popping up, but no mushrooms. Yet. It's too bad, since we are going to be broke paying for this, I could have pulled those shrooms and fed them to my hubby as a snack! LOL
Thankfully, it didn't do any serious damage to the house, just our savings. :0 | | | |
