What makes a Sony Vaio laptop special and more expensive?

hey hi stormragetz,
i know this sony really makes you worry...
it hardly got anything different in the pack but still charge like hell!
i have been using sony for a while..
and also i got a dell xps...
about dell which is closest competitor of sony...its service is too good..
sony doesnt give u vista cd even if u buy it;(
they ask for more money if u want a hard copy as well!!!!!!!
i think the cost is all because of the brand..
maybe because of style also...its become sort of style statement now..
but if u have to choose, then go for dell xps ..really good!

Well, I will say that they are more expensive mainly because of the brand name, Sony. As you know, the Sony brand is quite established in the market, and they had spent lots of advertising dollars in various advertising media (such as TV, newspapers, magazines, outdoor media, etc) to build up their brand name. Thus, they charge a higher price than the competitors.

I will say if you think they are more expensive, you should go for other established brands which charge cheaper. I will think that prices for brands like Dell and Lenovo laptops are quite reasonable.

I just came back from the IT Shopping Complex .... at first i want to get a Sony Laptop. but then i notice the price is a bit higher than other brand. I asked the sales rep and they say ... well you know its brand speaks for its name .....^_^

then i turn to other brand and grab one ..... i grabbed an acer ....^_^

to be very frank: ITS NOTHING BUT SONY'S ATTITUDE
Sony think they are better than others, but actually they worst!
DELL provides better laptops and MUCH better service
(SONY's SERVICE IS NOT AT ALL COMPARABLE TO DELL's SERVICE...DELL ROCKS! )
they are actually trying to make a league that song is on the top..
some one may just think as they are costliest so they must be good...
but all those ppl who bought because of this ARE REAL FOOLS!

i have sony vaio and Dell Xps laptops..and now also i am writing this from my dell xps...
trust me as i have both i know the difference and u can ask neone who has both,
the result is DELL ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
