Are you aware of Survielance Camera?

I think it is a need of the hour to have CCTVs ( Closed Circuit TVs) and Surveilance Cameras for sure. It is most definitely required for security. Be it a departmental store, an ATM or an Office.

I think too many illegitimate things are going on.
In ATMs and departmental stores it could be theft.
In an Office environment it could be misconduct by a colleague.Also,people may make use of the Office resources for personal gain(like using a telephone for personal calls).

As you correctly pointed out, if a person is honest he has nothing to worry about.

My husband and I own a motorcycle shop and we have a surveillance camera as part of our alarm system. This is mostly for when we are closed because smash and grab thieves could possibly make off with expensive bike parts before law enforcement could arrive so, hopefully, the camera will be able to ID them.

i think the CCTV is a positive step towards reducing crime. it's proved its worth time and time again, many arrests would not be possible without the aid of CCTV.
personally i hate using cash machines at night, especially in quiet, dimly lit streets but knowing that CCTV will be watching makes me feel much safer.

You are right there are cameras everywhere. Hwy intersections, parking lots, stores, libraries. one city even has the etire interstate system watched. You can see your house and the neighborhood from space. You can even go down your street looking from space. Big Brother is definitely watching. If it is not stopped soon they will be able to have your every move recorded from when you left your house. This will be great for national security but do you really want to give up your privacy??

In my workplace there are alot camera's to watch the worker's, i understand about why they need to watch the worker's but how many camera's are realy needed, at what point do people say enough, why don't you stick one where sun does'nt shine, it might be more interesting than watching us work lolol....

I really liked when I saw a CCTV in a mall nearby my home. I have seen many people stealing things in from that mall. On asking they used to say that since they don't have a tauly with them thus they are putting it in their pocket. Now, since there are camera, people would think twice before stealing things. It is nice to have a mall here and I don't want it to get closed because of some greedy people.


As an employee, I won't mind it becaue it is not specifically there for my activities but customers activities.

I think it is just the trend to have more and more CCTV installed around us so that we can record down what has happened. I think that having these cameras installed doesn't necessary mean that our personal freedom or privacy is compromised. Put it this way, it is your own responsibility to behave well no matter there are CCTV around or not. So, what these CCTV offering is actually helping you out because if anything goes wrong, there is a prove to look for.

I am always aware of the Surveillance Cameras. I think there are good if used for good reasons. I have no problem with Surveillance Camera in office place. I think no honest employee has anything to fear about. If you are doing your job correctly then there is nothing to worry about. In shopping malls also it is good because this decreases the chance of shop lifting.

But in some shopping malls it is used in wrong manner. Some times we hear the news that in some shopping mall there are hidden cam in trial room. I think this is not some thing good. I think we all must be aware of that. The kind of people doing it must be penalized.
