What was your favourite programme on TV when you were little? |
|
We had all sorts of things on television that I loved when I was little, I was concerned once when I realised I only liked cartoons as I thought I was getting too big for them!
We had a programme called Playdays which was alright, I used to like it when I was really small, but I absolutely loved Sesame Street. As for UK ones though, I used to love Funny Bones, a cartoon about two skeletons and their skeleton dog. I can still hear the theme tune.... In the dark, dark door, down the dark, dark stairs, down the dark dark hall, there was a dark dark cellar, in the dark dark cellar two skeletons lived!
What was your favourite kiddies programme??

1. clorissa123 (3744) | 8 months ago | I grew in different country, but I do love to watch cartoon instead of sesame street. When I was 7, I used to watch dragon balls, which is 10 years earlier than it was broadcasted in the U.S. here. I also like to watch Transformers and Zodiac Seiya. Those are my favorite kid's program.

Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | It is great fun going onto youtube.com and looking up your old children's programmes, you can spend ages on there being reminded of it all. You realise you know all the themetunes still and actually still really love the programme!

3. mscott (1754) | 8 months ago | My favorite show was Batman. I liked the original show with the real actors, not the cartoon version. I use to watch it every day. Same Bat time, Same Bat channel. I think I probably liked the Brady Bunch as well.

|
|
Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | I never really got into Batman but I would have preferred the original show that you are talking about. I used to like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too, now I think about it, what a crazy concept for a programme!

| moondance61 (94) | 8 months ago | You think TMNT was a strange concept. Do you remember the angry beavers. Yes, I was a grown up when this was on but I still thoroughly enjoyed it

|
|
Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | I just had to google the Angry Beavers, but I recognise the picture, I don't quite remember the programme though. I am sure it is in my head somewhere! I also liked ummmmmm what was it called..... Ren and Stimpy!

4. lelin1123 (4494) | 8 months ago | Well when I was very young I like Romper Room only because I loved the ending of the show when you would wait to see if they said your name. When I got a little older I loved Father Knows Best, Leave it to Beaver, and the Flying Nun.

Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | I'm not sure if I have heard of any of those, probably not in my country or time or something! Children's shows were the best, you learned so much and it was always great after school. I used to get an ice lolly and go watch tv in my little school summer dress, loved it!
Thanks.

Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | Cartoons are always good for children, they are just so colourful and can be really unrealistic which is great for a child's imagination!

| 8. moondance61 (94) | 8 months ago | Hiya Gorgess, sorry I haven't been around much. I have been busy writing articles but that it no excuse for neglecting my friends on my lot. Anyway my favourite kiddy programme from when I was very small was called Bizzy Lizzy, about a little girl who had a pocket on her dress, on this pocket was the picture of a flower, it was magic as whenever she touched this flower whatever she wished for would happen. She was obviously a very good little girl who never wished for anything bad. As far as I was concerned, Bill and Ben were just plain daft and Andy Pandy was nothing but a sissy. I couln't stand Andy Pandy. Do you remember Hectors House or Captain Pugwash. Not to mention the old and classic magic roundabout. Thankyou for allowing me to be totally childish. I am sure it will help with the dish washing and laundry I have yet to do. Oh, what the hell, lets open another bottle of red wine.

Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | Lol hello, that's a nice reply. That is the reason I started the discussion as I know how nice it is to think back sometimes and realise what you still remember. I think I remember magic roundabout, and I loved programmes like Bizzy Lizzy, I remember something with a boy and a stop watch and he could stop time. That was the coolest thing I had ever seen!
Definitely look your favourite old programme up on Youtube, if you enjoy talking about it and thinking about it, you will love seeing it.
Thanks for replying!

9. anangf (888) | 8 months ago | I like to wacth cartoon films to. I have been seen this since i was second grader. I enjoy Scoobydoo and a lot of laugh. I am happy that couple time ago, this film being played by real human and 'real' scoobydoo. hahaha.. watching the big screen in cinema with the authentic story relic is insterested me alot.
| |
| |
|
|
Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | I used to like Scoobydoo but then I grew out of it, and it got boring which is a shame! I like the film that they made a few years ago, it was rubbish but I liked it! I used to also like The Flintstones, but again I grew out of it, it was silly as they used to have canned laughter over the top of the cartoon to make you think it was really funny!
Thanks.

10. barehugs (3949) | 8 months ago | well when I was little I saw my first closed circuit television at the C.N.E. (Canadian National Exhibition) in Toronto Ontario. The TV set was turned on, and I asked my Dad why they were showing a snow storm. He said they were working on a rain storm, but haven't been able get the TV warmed up enough to melt the snow. Fifteen years later my Dad bought his first TV. I didn't get one until after we were married. We preferred listening to the radio, and thought people who watched TV were not too bright.

Gorjess (1072) | 8 months ago | I think there is no harm in watching television, you can learn a lot by it, but you can also get lazy because of it. Right now I am watching a documentary on the South Pacific, and all it's animals and tribes, it is really interesting and it's good to see things I probably will never see up close. I do like the radio though, and I'd like to think when I have my own home I will listen to radio just as often as television!
