 So, I just got done eating tacos, when I hear channel 7 talking about something that happened during the last 2 days... 40 people at the University of Notre Dame were arrested just because the president was invited to their college. Why? REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS!!!! I kid you not! You see, if you've lived in Iowa, you would know that they are VERY pro-life here, almost to the point where it's effectively like being brainwashed! Now I know what I'm saying is controversial, but I feel the need to get this off my chest. Notre Dame is a Catholic College, in fact, there's a lot of them around here. You'd be fortunate if you found one that WASN'T Catholic. Now, as a lot of you may know, Catholic teachings speak against abortion and embryonic stem-cell research. Now, most colleges would not have blown the issue quite out of proportion like Notre Dame did. But it wasn't the students that were arrested! It was pro-choice activists! It always seems like activists are always getting the short end of the stick. In fact, when I was watching the T.V., there was this cop that was shouting that "abortion is murder" or something like that while they were dragging this guy away! Well, anyway, with my ranting aside, there's a reason I'm pro choice... Abortion exists for a reason. Some women aren't healthy enough to have children. Let's say this woman was attacked by a sexual predator, and she becomes pregnant. Now, if there were no abortion clinics, this woman would die giving birth! That's why we need abortion clinics, so that should a woman be unfortunate enough to find herself in a situation like this, she won't have to resign to her fate. However, I do agree that abortion clinics shouldn't used as a contraceptive, that would just be dumb. That's also why I'm against abstinence only education. They don't educate people enough about sexuality, they just tell you to abstain, abstain, ABSTAIN! They never really go into detail about "How is babby formed?" (To quote a popular internet meme.). So these teenagers are exploring their bodies, and you know what? They get knocked up! It's not that they're stupid, hell no! It's because they didn't get the information they needed! If you tell someone "If you put this in that, then you get a baby", if they're smart, they'll listen! It's better to just be level-headed about sexuality then to try to preach doctrine! When has that ever worked? Anyway, that's enough ranting for one day, I'm starting to remind myself of Foamy...
