Hi lelin.....Of course the gas companies are ripping us off again, but what choice do we have but to pay their prices.
We are having a cookout at home for the holidays as it is our oldest grandaughters birthday, too. That way we don't have to travel, but our children and friends who will be coming will have to,but no one has a great didtance to come.
Hopefully the prices will go back down after the holiday as I would like to go and visit with my brothers and sisters and they live about 4 hours away.

Yes I decided to stay home too and have a cookout. Luckily the people coming don't live far away. I think alot of people should stay home and not buy gas the whole weekend. Wouldn't that be great! Then I bet the prices would come down! Thanks for responding and have a great day.

Maybe that is what everyone should do. Go a whole weekend and not buy any gas at all and then see what happens.
These gas companies know they have us where they want us and what can we really do but pay their prices if we have to get to work or go to get groceries or whateve.

I surely hope not. We need to find another way to get around without being dependent on oil. It's just getting out of hand. I heard though that in I believe Holland its 6.00 gallon. So I guess we should be grateful for now.

We are limited in the number of refineries we have and they are having trouble keeping up with the demand. Also it is the time of year when they switch from producing fuel oil to producing more gasoline. This requires a shut down and decreased supply thus the price goes up. People do not want to invest in new refineries because of the government regulations and the environmentalist fighting them in court. Now with the government talking about taxing all forms of carbon based energy they see no point in putting up money and not making a return on it. Why should people risk their money if the government is gong to tax everything they make?

Hi ,
I believe that there is a slight economic upturn since last 1/2 months ;or at least a hint of it . So , the demand for Gasoline is beginning to go up ; leading to a push in its prices .

That's just a coincidence, I think. Here in Spain, prices are rising, and my friends in England tell me the same thing is happening there. It's probably to do with the price of a barrel of oil at the moment or the cartel that fixes how much is produced. At least here in Spain, when prices go down internationally they go down here straight away.
