Best technique to sell online  

Your technique and the difficult depends on the type of niche you're in. In some niches you can hardly sell anything like in blogs/sites about online games but in online money making blogs/sites you can first offer a free report ( which is a small ebook) in exchange for someone's email address via a squeeze or landing page. You can then use this email address to stay in touch with that person. Some people prefer to stay in touch in a more personal way ie. via chatting and others send offers via mail but remember 75% of the mails should contain information on the niche/product and 25% should be promotional content. Otherwise people might chicken out very quick.

Most of those selling sites contain bold headlines with very energetic language as well as informing visitors about the advantages and features of said product.

I think setting up your own site to sell your own products would be very expensive and difficult unless you'r really computer savey.Also consider the amount of advertising you would need to get your site off the ground.

Did you mean your personal products ? If so , why not try EBAY ? I'm giving it a try but I just started so we'll see how it goes. So far so goo!
