Maybe these day's a lot of people are not sure if house speaker Nancy Pelois can be trusted just on her word,Nancy Pelois and Harry Reid are being called upon to take a vote on the fairness doctrine to see just where of members of congress stands on the issue,do you think this is the correct step that should be taken?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Harry Reid are being told to prove once and for all that the "Fairness Doctrine" will not be reinstated – by calling for a vote to strip the FCC of its authority to reinstitute the broadcast policy.

there are a number of issues congress isn't going to touch, the fairness doctrine is one of them, I think they know better by now and even Obama said he wouldn't support it and veto it. I like the idea of the Broadcast Fairness act, shame more didn't support it, but I'm not too worried about it. I really doubt there is enough support in congress to reinstate the fairness doctrine, I know some have called for it, but even many moderate democrats aren't willing to touch it with a 10 foot pole.

I think this is one of the silliest things WND has come up with yet! They're not going to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, the President isn't in favor of it so he wouldn't sign it if it WERE passed and they certainly wouldn't have enough votes to override a veto! Talk about childish - now they have to "prove" they don't want something by voting on it anyway when there is so much more that needs to be done?

Annie,
It is not only WND taking about the fairness doctrine, there is plenty of other news media talking about it as well it has been aired on Fox news numbers of times the passed few months,Bil O' has warned congress three months ago on the Bill O'Reilly show if they even look like they will do this they better be ready for one hell of a fight because Fox news is ready for them.

Proof is in the pudding so far Nancy and Harry has gave Obama permission to use the veto pen,so far Obama has vetoed zip so seeing is believing.
