PC Computer Guru Question About Retrieving Dumped Photos.

Even when you delete files and then empty the recycle bin, they CAN be retrieved from the hard drive by a PC expert. The only way to 100% guarantee a file is gone from a hard drive is to destroy the hard drive! Some people say that "zero fill" can wipe a hard drive, but again, a PC expert can still recover them. Forensic computer experts with law enforcement agencies for example are experts at this. As for us "average" PC users, we'd have little or no chance of getting them back unless we have data recovery applications, manual back up files or automated back-up functions running.

I should add that once "dumped" from the RB, if you have defragmented your drive, there is probably NO chance of recovery.

Well....let's see....it defragged and I use crapcleaner regularly...oh well...good thing it wasn't some special pic.

If you've used CCleaner on it, it's probably pretty gone, unless you have some access to some serious forensic tools. Even then, anything you might recover would be mangled.
