As some of you know today was my ultrasound so here is my update ... the baby was being stubborn so I STILL have no clue what I'm having! BUT I do know the more approximate due date which is October 22nd. BUT with that being said 1 of 2 things could still happen either a) I could go into labor on my own making the arrival sooner or b) because my babies are on the bigger side I could have my c-section scheduled anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks before the ultrasound due date. With how big Angelina was my Doctor highly doubts I will carry baby right till the 22nd! So have you ever had a stubborn baby when your just DYING to know? It's frustrating isn't it? Share your story please and help me feel better! lol

Congratulations! I am expecting my 3rd grandchild in December so I am anxiously waiting for my daughters first ultrasound which will be June 9 and hoping, maybe, possibly we will be able to tell if we're having a boy or girl. Either one will make me happy. I have a granddaughter and grandson already so this one will be an "extra." However, my grandson lives in AK so I don't get to see him as often, so a grandson close by would be nice. But than, a sister for Cicilia would be nice too!!

As far as your ultrasound and the gender of your little one, it sounds as if he/she is trying to give you the ultimate surprise. As aggravating as it is not knowing, you should remember, this is the one great surprise we adults have left. Good luck!! Just keep those boy and girl names handy!

Thanks for the congrats, and congrats to you too on expecting another grandchild! I just really hope that next scan baby will show him or herself! I would really like to be prepared! Best of luck for your daughter's ultrasound!

Well, I don't have any babies, and if I did someone would have some serious explaining to do. lol You know, my dad's mom had 16 kids, all naturally (by her one and only husband), and none weighed less than ten pounds. Her last baby weighed 12 pounds! She had her 16th at the age of 42. She was 5'3, and I never figured out how she managed to have all her kids at home. I am not tough enough. I'm not as touch as you either. I have a feeling though, if forced to, you could deilver your own baby with no help! Seriously! And then you could go on Oprah...take THAT Duggar family!

myLot reputation of 99/100. PurpleTeddyBear (3806)   ranked 4 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

Actually the Doctors have told me that I physically can't have a child naturally! So I know I will have to have a c-section either way. I just really hope that next ultrasound the baby shows him or herself!

Do you think having a c-section is more scary than having a vaginal delivery? I can't decide. Being cut open does not appeal to me, but then I start thinking about trying to get a baby out...

myLot reputation of 99/100. PurpleTeddyBear (3806)   ranked 4 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

I don't think either way is "fun"ersonally lol, but c-sections are more scary yes! I HATE being cut open, but they had me pushing for 3 hours and by that time I didn't care how they got baby out!

myLot reputation of 96/100. AmbiePam (15021)   ranked 19 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

Oh good grief, you ended up getting really unlucky! I had assumed your first delivery was a scheduled C-Section. But you had to go through the pushing stuff first before getting cut open. That's just not fair! Yikes! w00t

myLot reputation of 99/100. PurpleTeddyBear (3806)   ranked 4 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

Yea, it's not fair when you don't have a choice! It takes longer to heal via c-section as opposed to giving birth naturally, BUT in the end it's totally worth it!

I don't have kidsm and I am not going to have kids either...I do have 10 wonderful step-kids though.

Also, it's funny, but I've noticed that A LOT of my on-line fename friends are pregnant.:) One lady is going to have her second little boy on the 2nd of June. If I were to have kids, I would definitely want to know what I was having.

myLot reputation of 99/100. PurpleTeddyBear (3806)   ranked 4 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

I really want to know what I'm having too that's why it is so frustrating! Here's hoping that next ultrasound baby decides to show him or herself!

When I carried our kids there was no way to know whether we were having a boy or girl. The doctor could only guess by the way I carried the kids. Doctor told me I was having 3 boys but we had 3 girls. So it was a guess in the early '70's. All three pregnancies were difficult. Tried to deliver them between 5 and 5 1/2 months. Had a great doctor who was able to stop the contractions and let me carry the girls full term.

Hope you find out soon whether you're having a boy or girl. Tell baby he/she needs to cooperate..lol

Good luck and have a healthy, happy baby,
carolbee

I really hope that when I go for another ultrasound that baby isn't going to be so stubborn and shy! I'd really like to know so I can get prepared with clothes, how to do baby's room, etc!

Exactly. I understand totally.

Well wouldn't you know the baby would have to pick today to be bashful!!!??!!Darn I hate when that happens. My oldest grandbaby did that everytime an ultrasound was scheduled. There was no way we was gonna know what the baby was gonna be until they were ready to tell us...lol. And they finally did on their birthday.
Good luck with the next ultrasound and I'm so glad everything is okay.

we didn't have the privilage of knowing what out babies were before birth teddy, this was way back in the early 80's if we did want to know we had to pay for all kinds of blood tests and stuff like that, so we just had to wait till the baby was born, we couldn't prepare for the birth and buy things for a boy or a girl...so sorry that you didn't get to find out, but hopefully he or she will co-operate next time, what a naughty baby teddy....lol...i have always had natural birth on or around the due dates, are you hoping for a natural birth or do you want another C section?

myLot reputation of 99/100. PurpleTeddyBear (3806)   ranked 4 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

Hi tatty! I actually don't have a choice! I HAVE to have a c-section as I can't physically have a child naturally! Here's hoping that next scan baby won't be so gosh darn stubborn and show itself! Wow! Has technology ever changed over the years! I didn't realize that ultrasounds were unavailable in the 70's and 80's!

myLot reputation of 98/100. tattylashes (4295)   ranked 15 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

what i meant was we had scans in the 80's but they just didn't have the technology to detect what gender the baby was, i think it only came about in the late 90's, after that more and more people were getting their baby results then, but when i was having mine we couldn't find out, technology has gone better since then though, it is amazing isn't it?

myLot reputation of 99/100. PurpleTeddyBear (3806)   ranked 4 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

Yes, technology certainly has come a long way! Sorry about the confusion, I must have misread! That's cool that now they can tell you the gender, BUT they can only tell you after the 3 or 4 month mark when it "shows up" more!

My 2nd was that way. I had no idea what she was until I had another u/s @ 36 weeks wich was sooo cool I got a few seeing that the OB had an older machine in office. It was exteremly frustraiting as everyone kept saying she was a boy, she's stubborn not showing her goods. But I was like what can I replace that got trashed with my first and in what color. So I did buy quite a bit of neutral colors and let me tell ya it wasn't easy finding it, though @ the time I found most of it @ TJ Maxx I don't know how much of what they carry but just a thought.
I'll keep you in my thoughts that you don't have to have a c-sect and baby will come out the old fashioned way. I don't wish a c-section on anyone... especially after experiencing one I don't know how folks have more than one! Thankgoodness my 3rd SnuggleBunny was a boy and our family is complete & our house is officially full.

Good Luck!

I had Angelina via c-section, and to me it was no biggie! Yes, it takes longer to heal as you have to be cut open! I physically can't have a child naturally so I have no choice but to have a c-section! That's great that you have a complete family! I'm sure mine will feel that way when new baby arrives! happy Here's hoping that baby shows itself next ultrasound!

You are a brave soul it was tramatic to me! Then again when I had my gb out I was writing good bye letters as I was so freaked I was going to die. I also got PPD after my son was born & I wasn't upset @ him I was upset at the c/s! I havd under 90 min of official notice before he was born that it was really happening to me. THough my ob said because he was so big she didn't think I would of been able to pass him naturally anyways... darn breach, vertex & back to breach once I went into labor GRRRRR>>>> lil boys! But he is the cutest lil Sh!t & worth it!

myLot reputation of 99/100. PurpleTeddyBear (3806)   ranked 4 out of 304 in motherhood  6 months ago

Yes, it's always worth it in the end when you hold your baby for the first time all the pain and everything else just seems to disappear!

If I were having a baby, I'd be all over the news. The first untampered male mother...lol... My mommy told me I was a stubborn one. I took a lot of time and patience to come out... But I was worth the delay and pain

lol Yes, a man having a baby would make a huge headline! Babies are always worth it when it's all said and done!
