They said that fruits are also not allowed to diabetic people, because fruits are sweet. But since im dieting my mom, im trying to encourage her to eat more fruits that rice and bread, maybe somebody here know what fruits are allowed to diabetic patient, i also have to inform you that some fruits are not helping out in our digestive system, my mom also have problem with her digestive system.

3. book1962 (14493) | 7 months ago | hi I am diabetic as well. you have to watch carbs intake as a diabetic. There are fruits with a low glycemic index that means the sugar in the fruit is only trickling into the bloodstream instead of shooting into bloodstream.
Good fruits are apples, pears, oranges, kiwis,berries like strawberries, raspberries. papayas are also great.
Avoid watermelon, banana.
Add some nuts to your diet cause nuts have good fats plus keep your stomach working.

That would be cruel. I love them all. If I eat then with cinnamon maybe that would counteract the sugar content. I hope so.

4. Colmuc (377) | 7 months ago | Hi charlenmendoza, I am a diabetic and was advised by my doctor to eat most fruit in moderate quantities but totally avoid bananas which are almost pure sugar. White bread is not good and I eat only wholemeal bread. When I bake I sometimes substitute 50 percent of the flour with oat meal. It is healthy and also tastes good. I am very lucky in that I have no problem with my digestive system.

book1962 (14493) | 7 months ago | hi Colmuc I only looked these watermelons up in my list of Glycemic Index which tells you how quickly the carbs/sugar gets into the blood and watermelon makes blood sugar rush up. I love them too but avoid them now.

Fruit is good for her but she needs to limit her consumption to limit the sugar content. Watermelon, mangoes, and grapes are high in sugar so she need to limit eating it.

He used to eat all seasonal foods but in moderate quantities only.Another thing his blood sugar level was always kept within safe limits. I am careful too as diabetic is a herditary disease.
