Holidays are supposed to be fun filled and full of activities, but there is always homework, this is what my son says, Should there be any homework of any kind to be done in holidays. It is not fair on the part of the teachers!

When I was a student I absolutely opposed the homework assigned for holiday. But now I seem understand the meaning of those homework. I agree that children have not a right point to the world and their prospects. So we still should put some pressure upon their shoulders. But maybe we should change the method of teaching. We can assign them some interesting tasks so as to they have enough interest to finish it with enthusiasm.

To be honest I totally agree there should not be any homework when on holiday. I really couldn't stand it when my daughters would have projects, assignments and book reports that needed to be done while on Christmas, Easter or any other long holiday. These kids don't get to enjoy the simple things in life like playing outside with their friends or going on a vacation with their family without having to fit in these assignments. The family ends up with alot of stress due to all the homework. If I was a teacher I would make sure that my kids would just be told "go home and enjoy your holiday!

I know this may raise a few eyebrows, but I strongly think that there SHOULD be holiday homework. The amount of time they spend in school, in comparison to the amount of things that there are to be learned, is huge! If they didn't get homework, there would be more pressure for them to complete more work in class, and they might not get to grips with the work they were being taught as quickly. I'm sure they don't get so much homework that they can't enjoy their holidays. If they sat down maybe on the first day or two days of the holidays and got it all done, they would be able to do it easily. You should have a look at his homework diary (if he has one!) and have a look at exactly how much homework he has, and when it was set. You might find that some of the homework he claims is 'holiday homework' was set up to a week before the holiday, meaning that he could have completed it in full before the holidays even started if he put his mind to it. I'm saying all this because it wasn't so long ago that I was moaning about holiday homework myself, so I know the kind of things that can go on!
