 This question has been around for as long as I can remember, Is being homosexual a choice? SOme believe that no one is born a homosexual rather they choose to be this way and therefore they can choose to not be this way. Others believe homosexuality is something you have no control over and that sexual orientation is predetermined. Then there are some who think people are brain washed into being homosexual because of a bad sexual experience. So the question lingers on, Is being homosexual a choice?

And I think that people should be allowed to make that choice without having to worry about being discriminated against and harrassed about it. Not only is it a choice to be homosexual, but it is that persons right to choose who they love.

2.  phyrre (713) | 7 months ago |  I could give my opinion...but I don't see why it matters. People are homosexual regardless of the cause. It's a fact of nature. Heck, ANIMALS are homosexual. I see males mount males all the time and they don't seem to be the least bit ashamed of it (or I assume not since they don't mind me watching...hehe) so why should we be?
I don't see why people are so concerned about whether it's biological or a choice. It happens and people need to learn to deal with it, not try to fix it or whatever. Sometimes things just don't need to be fixed, even if you think they do. And if they do need fixing then nature will take care of it herself.

My two sisters and I have always been attracted to different types of men, both physically and personality wise. No one can force me to be attracted to someone I'm not nor can they force me...or brainwash me to not be attracted to someone that I am attracted to.
When I was in high school I watched a very good friend of mine go through a couple of years of personal struggle because he was never attracted to girls and the realization that he was attracted to males was a difficult thing for him to accept. When he finally accepted himself for who he was he hid it from all but his closest friends...until out senior year when he "came out". If you think that someone intentionally puts themself through the kind of rejection, ridicule and outright hatred that others have against homosexuals, you're so very wrong. The rest of your life is not easy. It's hard being true to who you are when you're different.

I have seen little children, innocent creatures, who are showing obvious patterns of homosexuality and eventually grew up to be homosexuals. Don't tell me they made that choice. They don't even know what it means to be homosexual yet, I suppose. The environment, yes, can be a factor, but the seed is already there. The choice to go against it can of course be made, but, they can't erase the nature they were born with. | |
