Spider Behavior, ever notice  | |  Have you ever noticed that if you stomp your foot to try to scare a spider away, it will almost always move towards where you stomped your foot? Maybe after several tries it will move in a direction away from your stomp but not at first. How do you feel knowing that there is almost always a spider within about 3 feet of you? I think that is the number that experts give.

I think its because they use vibrations to detect where food is
which is why I dont even give them a warning stomp anymore
after being charged by a very angry brown recluse who though I was food I learned to just stomp ON them

Yes, a brown recluse should not be taken lightly, they are very dangerous. My Mother was bitten by one once and had a really bad place on her leg for a long time. They can be deadly. | |

She will not even try to kill them, just takes off running the other way and won't go back to that area until she knows that it has been taken care of. She is so funny.
I will tell her the next time she sees one to stomp and it will run away and when it starts for her she will have a screaming fit. But it will be funny just to see what she does..LOL
