Gastric Bypass Surgery

Gastric Bypass Surgery can be a good thing. My sister in law had one several years ago and lost all of her excess weight (most people only lose 60%) and she has kept it off. It is a very serious surgery, even if it is done laproscopically. It is also very expensive. Overall, I think the surgery helps a lot of people. I wish there was an easier way. One thing I do know that trying to lose weight by just controlling the calories that you consume versus the calories you burn is not an effective way to lose weight.

Iknow a few people that have had this surgery. Yes they did lose weight but neither one of them can now go for any amount of time with constanly gaging . . I drove to Ct with my girlfriend who had it down a year before and to this day she still cant get into the car with out making sounds as if she is going to throw up. And sometimes it is just the sounds and then again sometimes I had to pull over for her to toss out the car. On another note when the weight started to drop so did her skin. Which I would rather not describe. She has plastic surgery done to pull it all back and up but the physical scars that will remain with her for the rest of her life . .well I just dont see that is is worth it, They say tthat before one ventures on this path it is a good idea to seek professional advice and talk to a good therapist. Another man friend of mine just had it done a few weeks ago . .he is still on liquids so we shall see if he fares any better,
Have you watched the show the biggest loser? Personally I think that is the way to go .. it is healthly for your body, you have a better shot at keeping the weight down cause they teach you how to do it in a healthy and smart way, Eveb Weight Watchers can do the trick. I am sure this is sooo hard for you but there are so many people out there that need and give support . . and there really are so many great healthy things to put in your system to get the right results . . I am sorry I just think that it is going against nature having Gastric Bypass Surgery and too many bad things can come out of it. Gastric Bypass wont let you eat those sweets you crave anymore anyway . . actually from what I saw there wasnt anything my girlfriend liked to eat anymore. The joy of eating was gone from her .. as was her bright and happy spirit that I so loved in her.

I'm not sure what advice to give you, but my best friend had the gastric bypass about 6 years ago. She was a size 27 and is now probably a 6. It took about a year for that to happen, and she hasn't gained it back. There are some side effects to be aware of. It affects people in different ways. Your stomach won't be able to handle some things, and it will depend on your body, but there have been times that she has had to throw up, because her body jut won't digest the food. She also got a "hole" and had to have her stomach revised, and she got a hyernia from it. Those things don't happen to everyone, but they can, so just be advised. Overall, if you have tried other things and nothing seems to work, go to a siminar and findout about the surgery. I have known quite a few people who were able to do this on Weight Watchers, but you have to be very disciplined, I couldn't do it. If you choose to have a surgical procedure I would not recommend the lap band. I know too many people who this has not worked for, or they have gained the weight back.
