Weight Watchers |

Anyone here on Weight Watchers besides me? I've got to say I really love it. I love the point system so much better than counting calories. WW has a lot of good treats that are just 1 and 2 points too. We went for a walk.. I walked for 3/4 mile around the track at the school just before dark. My family walked 5 times around.. so that was a mile and 1/4 for them. We stopped at Publix on the way home and got a Diet Dr. Pepper and a box of ice cream sandwiches made by WW. They are just 2 points each. Wow! They are so good.
I walked this afternoon too for the same distance.. I earned 3 activity points both times.. so I got six activity points. Now what are the activity points for? They aren't to add more points to our food points are they? I can't hardly finish my points each day. I usually have 4 or 5 points left at the end of the day that I don't use.
Today though.. because I went to the Firehouse Sub place after church.. that used up 18 points all at once... so I went into my extra weekly points today. I used 3.. I call it my 'bounce protection'..... hehe.
I want my star on Thursday night. We go to the 7 PM meetings. How many 5 pound stars do you have? I hope to get my first one Thursday. I just joined last Thursday. I haven't had any pain with my gall bladder for 2 days now, and I know it has to be eating right that is helping me.
Okay.. I want to hear from all the loosers out there? Have you walked a 5 K Marathon yet? We are having one Thanksgiving day.. I won't be going to it.. but by next summer I hope to do one. Everyone at our meetings are talking about going to the half marathon at Thanksgiving. I won't be ready by then.. but by next summer I think I will be in shape.
How about you? Please share your experiences? Do you stay within all your points? I especially want to know the significance of the activity points. Do we get a star for getting lots of activity points? I'm like a kid. I want all the STARS I can earn!!!!

OreoCookie3 (18673) | 7 months ago | Well, here it is only $13 a week. I have it budgeted already. There was no enrollment fee. It was waved for us... I'm so happy. I can't wait for Thursday. I really want my stars like a kid.. but they mean a lot to the people earning them. Our counselor is really good too. She is a lifetime member. She lost a bunch of weight 3 years ago.

2. BCMike (3316) | 7 months ago | I keep losing my points book. I have had two of them.
There is probably not another program going that has a more diabetic friendly diet plan than Weight Watchers. Everything on their diet and meal plans is keyed to the same requirements as any diabetic diet. Which means, anyone can lose weight slowly without exercising simply by following the diet meal planner.
Anyone acn Google the "Glycemic Load Index" and come up with the essence of the WW plan. That will save you tons of money on membership fees as well.
But if you are happy with this and it is working for you, go for it girl!

3. Annie2 (417) | 7 months ago | Congratulations on your great start with Weight Watchers! I don't do it, but I sure should! My daughter used to do WW and did quite well, but she quit and gained. I have a friend who is on it and has lost about 25 pounds now. She was having gall bladder problems, too -- I think her discomfort has lessened now.
Keep up the good work. Who knows . . . maybe you will inspire me!

5. muscles4me (8950) | 7 months ago | Good for you. I am proud of you. Last year I had two clients for personasl training that insisted on doing weight watchers so that was fine with me as long as they worked out in the gym 4 days a week. They were budies so that helped them to. They walked together 3 miles each morning, either in a park or if it was raining inside mall. At night they would do the workout I wrote for them which was mostly free weights and alittle kettle bells. They did Chest/shoulders and triceps on Monday and Thursday and Legs/back/biceps on Tuesday and Friday. Wednesdays and week ends they still did their walking though and on the nights they had the gym workout it included 10 minutes bike first and 10 minutes treadmill last. It really worked for them. One started at 175 and was at 145 in 4 months and the other started at 188 and was 153 in 4 months. So it is good that you are walking.

7. KrauseHome (13460) | 7 months ago | Well, Weight Watchers does have some Great foods for sure. I have ate many of the dishes that are frozen, and even some of the soups and such. I know that this is a Great diet to follow. Just not able to personally follow it as much as others can due to being Diabetic, but it does have some Great tips on how to loose weight for sure. Wishing you the Best.

OreoCookie3 (18673) | 7 months ago | Thanks Tina. Diabetics can follow too, but I can see where they couldn't eat the treats, because they do have sugar in them. I love those little 1 point chocolate cakes.. they remind me of Zingers or something... like a chocolate twinky without the cream inside.

OreoCookie3 (18673) | 7 months ago | Hi BarBaraPrz.. have you actually joined WW? It's all explained in the meetings and there is nothing complicated at all. You figure up your points... you do that by going to page 15 in book 1. You answer the questions in the quiz.. and you get your points. I get 35 points a day. I can spend them any way I want to. You can have any kind of liquid, but water is best. Diet drinks have never made me fatter.. I lost 140 pounds drinking diet Mountain Dew. Eating unhealthy has made me fatter though.. I gained 70 of those pounds back.. so now those pounds are what I am working on now.
I just joined last week and the weight is already melting off. I use regular bread.. it's 2 points a slice. I use a teaspoon of fat free cream cheese, so that ads no points... it's so close to zero that it wouldn't count.. 4 tablespoons of nonfat cream cheese is only 1 point. I never use near that much. It's so much simpler than having to track calories. If you just track points you can easily stay within the calorie range that is conducive to weight loss. I figured up my calories for fun and my average calorie intake is 1170. The great thing is though, I don't need to track calories. It is just so much simpler.

9. lumenmom (868) | 7 months ago | I tell you what, I am not on WW and I have heard of their point system before, but reading you describe your day in detail makes me want to join right now. It actually sounds like it could be fun! I hate calorie counting and I am not very disciplined to follow anything that requires too much thinking and planning. It seems like you are having a ball on this one. Don't be surprised if I end up saying I joined!

| 10. minah1983 (9) | 7 months ago | me personally i've never tried WW but i've thought about it. i'm currently pregnant with my fourth child and I've already begun thinking about what to do about this baby weight. my doctor has advised me to walk on a treadmill so i've gotten that. I haven't exercised since before my first child was born 4 years ago! Its interesting. Walking does make me feel a little better but I want the good stuff LOL. I am 5'3 and i weigh 189lbs at the moment. I want to drop at least 35-40lbs if i can after giving birth. I've never weight this much in my life. I miss my 147lbs frame. I know it may suck, i'm not really looking forward to it but whatever I need to do in order to lose this weight I will try to do. I have to. This is for my health overall after all. I have asthma and i'm short. I don't need to be this heavy after having my baby ya know.

OreoCookie3 (18673) | 7 months ago | Very true. WW isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle change that is conducive to weight loss. We have a couple of pregnant young women in our meetings who are following it. They've been on maintenance for some time, they said. They keep coming to keep from gaining too much weight and to eat healthy.
