My Two Dad's - A poem I wrote for my dads, a tribute to both of them.

My Father, from what I have been told was a kind and gentle man, one not quick to lose his temper, one who loved everyone he knew For his friends and family anything he would do. His life cut short, take from us before I knew him, taken from us when we were so young, my sister 6, I just turned four and my brother 2. Memories I have none, stories I have tons, my love for him will never die My desire to know him will never stop My Father, My daddy, what a great man, to raise three kids not his own. To come into a ready made family and love us as if he was there the day we were born. Into our lives you came, with an open heart and mind, giving to us all the love you had, teaching us firght from wrong. Encouraging us to always be and do our best. I know what people say, I know how they thing, I should not call you dad I should not give you that honor. But in my heart and in my mind I can not think of any other that I would want to be my father. My hand you held when I cried, my knees you wiped when the bled, my boyfriends you tortured when the time was right, my arm you held as I walked down the aisle. You were there for me when my real dad could not be, you loved me and you taught me. My dad you will always be no matter what everyone else says. All those others I question, how could you say he is not my dad. you are the only father I know an di my heart you will remain so. My natural dad I will always love, I will always wonder why he had to be taken away. But I know you were sent in his place. You were sent to be the one to raise me and support me, to take care of me. My dad and God made sure that I would have a father and a family that I would always treasure. Thank you Dad, both of you, for doing your best in raising me. I love you so much and think of you often,. I miss you both a great deal, and dad I hope you know you will always be my dad, no matter what anyone else every says.
