We are in a motel now waiting for our bathroom to get finished, and the ramp made. So far we have an ensuite, a door from the computer room to the master bedroom with a closet in between , the trees and shrubs have been cleared off so that they can put the ramp there, and the bathroom is getting its final painting before they put in the tile and install the shower. So everything is coming along well. Internet was off for a while because one of the cables got loose so now I can write a bit and tell you what has been going on. And my husband has been approved for one of those motorized wheelchairs so now nothing will stop him.

It sounds like it is coming along. It will be nice when everything is finished, and you are home to enjoy it. I am glad he was approved for the wheelchair, it will make things so nice for him.

He misses his friends from the CN who are retired. We live in a railroad district and everytime we went shopping, we used to run into his railroad buddies, but now I am afraid he will have the power wheelchair and I will have a hard time keeping up with him.

It is great when you can actually see the progress. I am glad hubby is getting his motorized wheel chair. The thing that would stop him would be his attitude, and sometimes that can be harder to overcome than a physical barrier.

My husband has an attitude. His hair is always itchy, his nose is greasy and he thinks that it is easy for me to lift him up. I finally convinced him that when he tries to get up, he tends to lean backward and I have to pull him forward. I told him once when we were in the motel (we are home now( that it was lucky there was a wall between us and the next room or he would land in the other room.

That's great news about the wheelchair!! Now he can have a little independence and do some things for himself and that will make him feel so much better--it's awful to have to depend on other people, especially when you've spent your whole life supporting yourself and your family and are now reduced to depending on others. I hope you'll see a real change in his attitude and his moods and that he'll be a lot happier!
