hmmm.. you are right. that can mean that the world has a fixated view on good looks. the general population may have a general consensus on what good looks may appear to be. your observation on the similarities of movie stars may be an indication of this hypothesis. since we become familiar of that "face," we tend to look for a similar one. and since people grow old together with that face, we tend to search for a similar look on young ones. good observation.

That was an interesting video. I wonder sometimes if the similarity is one based on fashion or how people are coached to pose for the camera. One way or the other, I suppose similar looking celebrities occur because there are certain idealized stereotypes of beauty. The celebs might not look very similar naturally, but in costuming, posing, hair styling, and plastic surgery they may tend to converge on the same appearance.

I saw a comparison of Madonna once which showed how her looks were homages to other famous beautiful people. I would think the idea is much the same.
