| Gov't posts sensitive list of US nuclear sites by mistake ~ OOPS!!!  | | | |  Someone in high places made a mistake by sending out sensitive information,it dose make me nervous because the right wing terrorist list from home land security was released with out being cleared first,the person that did that was sent to a new position in the white house.
Have you wondered just how experienced are these people that has been appointed by Obama and his administration to high level positions in our government?

An Energy Department official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss the situation publicly, said none of the sites on the list are directly part of the government's nuclear weapons infrastructure.
Included in the report, however, are details on a storage facility for highly enriched uranium at the Y-12 complex at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and some sites at the Energy Department's Hanford nuclear site in Washington state, this official acknowledged.
The document includes both government and civilian nuclear facilities, all of which have various levels of security, including details and location of nation's 103 commercial nuclear power reactors, information readily available from various sources.

| |  My green heart always comes to the same conclusion: all this nuclear stuff is threatening mankind. We should replace nuclear power stations by wind mills, solar panels and biomass conversion. This would bring us out of all the nuclear waste risks and nuclear weapons wouldn't be needed any more to wage wars for oil. Nuclear technology is a dead end road and can't be controlled for ever. Mr. Obama and Mr. Putin might be wise enough not to cause another Hiroshima, but the small leakages, such as you describe one, sum up to nuclear weapons in wrong hands such as North Korea, Pakistan, Iran and and and. Nuclear technology simply shouldn't be followed at all.

| | You probably have on mind only those two which hit thousands and tenthousands of people. But if I add all the "small" incidents of leaking contaminated waters into rivers and the North Sea, each of them with non-overlookable damage to environment, then the picture gets worse. Particularly if I take into consideration that nuclear technology creates hazardous radionuclids with halflife times of hundreds or even thousands of years.
These days we have a scandal in a salt mine in Germany named "Asse". It was said to take the radioactive waste safely out of biosphere. Meanwhile water flew into it and the whole structure is in danger to break. The producers of radioactive waste are out of responsibility .... some of them not even exist anymore. But population still exists there .... now starts the same scenario as in economic crisis: "Governement, please help! Taxpayer, you are the only one who has enough money to pay for this". The damage from wrotten financial products government might be able to repair .... while the insurers break .... but the risks of nuclear energy production wasn't even taken over by insurance companies. | |  Rose, exactly what does this have to do with "just how experienced are these people that has been appointed by Obama and his administration to high level positions in our government"? Seriously, whoever made this mistake was not a political appointee of President Obama but a career employee. This could have happened no matter who was in the White House! Would you be so "nervous" if it had happened under Bush?
