Ramen Noodles |
| |
| Do you eat them? Have you even heard of them? Ramen Noodles have never been a favorite of mine. I chalk it up to having had them too much when I was a kid. They're extremely cheap, even in today's economy you can get about a dozen packages of Ramen Noodles for only $2. My family loves Ramen Noodles though. I always keep them in the house. My husband will make them for lunch for him and the kids. He has also begun bringing them to work for lunch. I just bought myself some Shrimp flavored Ramen Noodles, hoping a change in flavoring would get me to like them a little more. I thought I'd like them because I like the Shrimp flavored Instant Lunch, which is basically Ramen Noodles with some veggies and small bits of meat. Honestly, I don't like the Shrimp flavor. I'd rather have Chicken flavor! What flavor Ramen Noodle do you prefer? | | | | | |

| | Everyone in my house loves noodles!. I wouldn't go so far as to stay they don't like noodles and eat it just because its cheap and is the only food in the house available for concumption. I'm not going to make that assumption because there's always a choice. You can choose to eat noodles. I disliked the idea they never had Ramen Noodles in school when I was younger. It hurt my feelings that I had to wait the whole day until I got home to eat. | | | |

| | I see you have a picture of a different type of cup noodles on your post. I like ppicy flavored noodles because they were always not too spicy they were just right. I never tried Shin Ramyun, which sounds smiliar to Ramen, but I would like to. I was eating noodles before I was born so its kind of hard to let them go. | | | |

| | Ramen is commonly known in Japan. Sounds the same with Ramyun, or 'Ramyeon,' yet this one comes from Korea. Korea also has a lot of spicy food. I think this is quite popular and available everywhere now-a-days. I hope that you can find one and enjoy. However, it would really be more special if you can go to a Korean restaurant that serves this kind of noodles which beats any food that is not processed, but real and natural ('_^ ) | | | |

| | is there a curry flavor of ramen. none that i know of here in my country. we have usually beef, chicken, pork and shrimp. but never heard of that curry. though i really love curry flavor. maybe because curry is not a popular thing that our people use in their food. only few of our food recipes make use of a curry when cooking. at first i don't understand what Ramen Noodles. but when i saw the pic, yeah i eat a lot of that before. but now i don't like it if not hate it. cause i feel that they are bad to health. | | | |

| | The beef flavor is the best. After eating chicken flavor my whole life I naturally turned to beef. Now I can't stand chicken. I can't even tolerate being around chicken flavored noodles. I don't want to see none of my family members eating them its anooying. I guess when your body is so used to eating a certain food for a long time it automatically rejects it. The human body can act weird sometime. | | | |

| | I rarely eat them, but my son loves them. I always get the chicken flavor for him. I actually don't know if he has ever had a different flavor. His dad used to love the Oriental flavor ones. They were in a blue package. I don't know if they even still make that flavor. | | | | | | |

| | I've seen the Oriental flavor at Walmart, but have never tried them. Sometimes I use the noodles without the seasoning as a base for stir fry... I might try the oriental noodles in a stir fry next time though. | | | |

| | I haven't had Oriental flavored noodles in years. I used to cook those noodles Rice-n-roni style. Fry the noodles, pour water in them, and let the seasoning steam into them. They taste very good with vegetables put into them. | | | |

| | My kids love them, plus they are cheap. I only allow them once or twice a month, though, because they are so high in salt, and fat. The chicken flavor is the only one they like. | | | | | | |

| | I agree those noodles ar ehigh in sodium but we still eat them every single day. Only once a month? I couldn't imagine being deprived of Ramen noodles for once a month. Thats like depriving me of water. Its needed! I think Ramen noodles are the cheapest for fulfilling food on earth. Its a cheap man's dinner. | | | |

| | I do make a few meals with Ramen Noodles... these are not listed on that site so far as I could tell: With cooked chicken ramen noodles (water drained), add some bite size chicken pieces, corn, peas, carrots etc... make your own home made instant lunch! With cooked (and drained) oriental ramen noodles (or plain noodles without seasoning packet) add stir fry veggies, whatever sort of meat you want, and a stir fry type sauce. Sometimes I'll use the flavoring packet to season my chicken or pork, then use the noodles in the stir fry. | | | |

| | Thanks lilybug for the site information. I am going to go there immediately. I need ideas for cheaper meals. Kat, your variety sounds good and as you drain off the water then the salt content would be lower, right? | | | |

| | Yeah, cuz most of it ends up in the water, but honestly, we add the flavor packets after we drain the water off usually. Hubby will leave a bit more water when he makes it for the family though. | | | |

| | We love Ramen noodles. They are a quick meal or snack to hold you over. You can actually try adding different types of ingredients for a twist. WE sometimes stir in an egg and it looks like eggdrop soup. Add some chopped green onion and salt and pepper and it really is an oriental meal! | | | |

| | I like them although I'm not too fond of making them. I used to eat them for lunch on a regular basis when I was working as a dental assistant. They seem like a bother to make now (I know they are easy but I'd rather make a sandwich). I prefer the "oriental" or chicken flavor. I use them in an excellent asian chicken slaw recipe. Then they are sauteed and used as a crunchy ingredient rather than a cooked noodle. Yummm! | | | | | | |

| | I like ramen noodles once in a while since they have lots of MSG in the soup which slowly make you fat and it makes you really thirsty after due to the amount of MSG. I do miss it sometimes though if I don't get it for a while, I like lots of flavor like pork seasame, chicken, roast spicy beef etc ^_^ | | | | | | |

| | Hi Kats, I really do love Ramen noodles. I can't have them now because they are soooo salty. I do occasionally make half a pack and mix it in my veggies.. but I don't add the packet of flavor due to the salt. I used to eat them like soup, and then put crackers in them to soak up the juice. I loved it... but times have changed.. I don't eat that way anymore. | | | | | | |

| | Sometimes I'll use the packet to season chicken or pork chops. I'll also mix the season packet with crushed crackers to coat chicken or pork. A little goes a long way. I'll then pour stir fry veggies and chicken over plain noodles another night. | | | |

| | That sounds wonderful. All of it. We don't eat pork, except for bacon once in a blue moon.. but I love it. The stir fry veggies is something I'd like to do. I did do some veggies and put some ramen in there without the packet.. I have a blood pressure problem, and I hold fluid if I have salt... so I really stay away from it. | | | |

| | If I make the noodles into a stir fry type of thing, I'll reserve the seasoning packet for a different meal, and instead I'll add a stir fry sauce to the noodles w/ the veggies. The store sells "stir fry sauce" and I'll add a bit of ground ginger, garlic, soy sauce... whatever else. I like flavor! I don't exactly watch my salt (but I'm still young), so I don't know if that sauce is as bad as the packets. But maybe you could look into it. | | | |
