I remember about my father, every time when was hard times, or we lose somebody who we loved, he have few tears in his eyes, but never let us to see that he cry, and all time he hide, don t let us see him All time i wonder why he hide? Do you think that man who can cry in hard moments are not real man? Do you see a man who cry because of love? Can a man to be so sensitive and cry for who he love more?

2. robert67 (1341) | 7 months ago | i see nothing wrong with men crying although they probably are ashamed so they tend to do it in private. men are usually made to believe that only girls and women cry, this stems from childhood and is often told to them by their parents or friends.
i think a man who cries is a man that is not ashamed of his emotions and by showing his emotions in this way he is proving that he's human and not a stereotypical macho male that most would like people to believe they are.

robert67 (1341) | 7 months ago | very true. i forgot to mention the last time i saw a man cry was when my dad cried at his brother's funeral. he tried to hold it back but he went outside for some "fresh air". it's an uneasy experience to see a man cry but it is also a sign of their vulnerability and compassion.

| 4. wyuhong (57) | 7 months ago | Now I will talk about my father, my great father.Though my father is only at school for 6 years, but everything he did is successful. His temper is very bad.Now I'm 22,my father only cried one time, one time in the 22 years perhaps that is the first time and is the last time too.My parents are both farmers and they earn money very hard.Last year,my mother was cheated eighty thousand yuan, that is most of their nest egg! That time my father cried, but he wasn't angry with my mother, because my mother wantet to make more money for our family! What moved me is that he didn't angry with my mother even his temper is bad!He is the greatest person in the world!

6. lelin1123 (4640) | 7 months ago | For me when a man crys he is more of a man than when he doesn't want to show that emotion. I grew up where my Dad would well up with tears over a commerical that got to him. Thats one of the things I love about him that he can be strong but also sensitive. Being able to show both emotions is what a man is to me. When you feel because you are a man that you shouldn't or can't cry that is not a man to me. I call that type of person a phony!

8. Pose123 (5839) | 7 months ago | Hi icesmile, The idea that a man should not cry is an old one and few people would agree with it today. Tears are an outlet and no one should ever hold them back. I have cried myself, in solitude when my father died but very openly when my mother and my wife died, and I doubt if I have cried all my tears yet. I have also saw some strong men cry when a loved one died and I respected them for it. It is time to leave such notions that men should not cry in the past where they belong. Blessings.

9. Sandra1952 (1671) | 7 months ago | Crying is a perfectly natural human response, and there's nothing wrong with men or women crying, as long as they don't burst into tears at the least excuse. Men have feelings too, and it's good if they can let them out. To me, that makes them more of a man, not less.
My husband is 75, and he was brought up in the 'stiff upper lip' era of the 1930's and 1940's, but I've seen him cry several times in the 20 years we've been together. I don't like to see him cry, as that means he is either very unhappy or very moved, but I like it that he can open up enough to cry in front of me.
