Pregnant Moms in Train!

MRT is the means of transportation here in Metro Manila. It is design to be convenient and fast. Due to large volume of people working in Makati (the southbound of the Metropolis), the train is always jam-packed...
What really annoys me are the expecting mothers who still rides the MRT, aside from occupying two spaces (them and their bellies). They're putting danger to their unborn babies. Why dont they just take a cab or ride a bus rather than pushing themselves in. I pity their babies... tsk tsk tsk!

I dont think that is a fair statement. There are men who have bigger bellies than pregnant women! Should they not be allowed to ride the train because they are taking up too much space? What about my husband who is just much bigger than I am? (I am only 5'2", he is 6'6" and lots of muscle)
Unless someone is kicking or punching the pregnant woman in her stomach, there is no harm being done to her or the baby. There is no reason she cant ride that train!

I understand the pushing to get on the train. I have witnessed it myself in Italy. But that kind of pushing wont harm the pregnant person unless they already have other problems and shouldnt be out at all! The mother's body is amazingly protective of the baby.

I think there can be many reasons, maybe they are too poor to afford taking a cab ride everywhere, or they don't know think there's that big a risk. Though I do think pregnant women should be very careful while travelling, and careful in general, like what they eat, and not smoking and drinking etc.

I am not familiar with MRT, but could they be using this form of transportation because it is more economical. When a woman is expecting a baby, she is also having to come up with money for extra expenses.
