How much is your "baon" (allowance) when you were in Grade 1?  

My parents don't give me money as baon when I was in the elementary grade. Partly because money don't come easy to them those days and maybe because we have lots of fruits and other crops - banana, sweet potato, cassava, guava, corn and more - from our small farm. I even bring more than I can eat because my classmates love to buy some from me.

My baon when I was in grade school was P1. A small coke cost .55 cents and a bun was like .20 cents. You can buy candies then for 5 cents. I didn't have to worry about fare because my granpa brings and picks me up from school. This was around late 70s.

You are ahead of me of 1 year I was in Grade on the school year of 1990-1991.My baon that time is only 2 pesos and bread with juice. The famous juice that time is Ritchie and Sunny Orange my mother always buy that for our baon. We only walk to school that time it is 30 minutes away from our house. Rain or shine we only walking because our life then is so hard. The food in the canteen is so affordable that time so having P1 that time for me is a blessing.

I never got any money when I was in grade 1.. my baon would always be hansel and water ( I always bring a water jug with me ).. and sometimes it would be chizwhiz sandwich. LOL. If I remember it correctly, I only started getting money when I was in grade 3, 5 php every friday. oh those were the days!

Wow!! Php1 seems to be quite much way back... Going back like in the year of 92, I was in first grade, I don't think I had allowance at that time. I can even remember having coins at those days.. I had my packed food all the time, after all I just stayed in school for half day.. So I don't think I get easily hungry during those times.. I guess I'm more concern of playing rather eating.. You know kids..

Back when I was in Grade 1 I honestly cannot remember how much my parents would give me but I remember having monet to buy anthing I want from the store in school. I have food as well as money just in case I want anything from the store. My dad would always give me extra money aside from what my mom would give me so I was very lucky when I was in school back then.

I don't have allowance in my early grade school years. But when I do, it's about 5-20 pesos. My mom is usually in the canteen with me.
