Karl Marx said that 'religion is the opium of the People'. He saw religion, well catholic church actually, as a way to control people and have them act as they wished by making them believe that it was God's will. Of course that those days the amount of nformation to which people had acess to was minimal and so they all pretty much believe what their pastor told them...

This is to say that I'm not a huge fan of 'organized faith' or religions either, I believe that one's relationship to God is too personal to be shared with 500 people in a church.

I'm really not religious, just spiritual. I think you can call it God, or nature, or higher being, Frankenstein or Tooth fairy. He still exists and looks out for us. I'm not a fan of the Bible though, because it was actually made by men...

I guess that what i'm trying to say is, i believe we all have very personal relations with God, even if we don't know it, and that can't be ruled by a man-made book, or guided by other people.

Well, I do not believe that human life or life in general came about by accident. There had to be a cause for it be it God or something like that.

There will always be questions which can never be answered in our life times. As long as we live, God being real or not will always be a tough one, especially when it is based on faith.

Hi Republic Menu! Either you believe or not we will get our life back after our death and we have to face final trial by God. Our every action will be judged by God. Either we believe or not we have to accept either paradise or hell according to our deeds/actions. So it is better, to take preparation to face mandatory final trial. May God bless us all.

I wonder, do you take that seriously? I mean, you do know those books were written by man and not God right?

Why don't you trust your own personal relationship with God instead of blindly accept guidance from people who claim to know Him/Her?

All prophets are educated by God Himself. They came to this world at different times and different countries. They do not have communication facility as of today like, telephone, cellphone, fax, telegram, post office etc. But all of them have taught the same thing to the common people. If they are not guided by God, was it possible?

In Al-Quran, 36 the names of prophets have been mentioned and in Torah the names of 124,000/224,000 prophets have been mentioned. Similarly a good number of prophets have been mentioned in the Bible. Like many others, I believe in God. This is my personal belief. Whatever I think it may not be correct. So we need to believe on the great persons and they are prophets.

Believers will enjoy all facilities after death and they would be rewarded with paradise but non-believers will suffers for ever and all in the hell. But we should remember that 'If we want to gain something, we have to leave something." We must surrender our desire to God and worship regularly leaving our comfort slightly. We worship God five times everyday. As a believer I firmly believe that Al-Quran is the final book of God, Muhammad is the last prophet of God and Islam is the last religion of God. All are true. All believers would be benefited and non-believers would be deprived.

I don't think I agree with you. I believe thet the feeling that there is something above you is very natural to most people, the way you act about it or towards it is what is conditioned by your upbringing and experiences, meaning mostly other religions.

Spirituality is the essence that many dexcribe as god or the divine. I believe this to be a mistaken notion. It can be reached in meditation and is at the heart of all things. It is from which all physical things derive from.

So you are saying that people mistake 'talking to God' or feeling God for a spiritual moment?

But then again if you say that all that is physical derives from it, it ends up being God, just a different notion of what God really is...

Yes. I suppose what i react to is any insistance of this spirituality as a divine being over all others. That is too much like mythology to me.
