but the movie characters is inaccurate to what spartan soldiers look like
real spartan soldiers look like normal people and not some musculine man

the movie 300 was based on a comic and the comic was inspired by real history

yes, it really happened, the Spartans fought the Persians to a stand still - all dying in the process. Mean while the rest of the Greeks came by sea and the Persian king had to retreat for fear of losing his ships and access to his homeland.

And u trying to figure out if it ever happened? thats a story.,script writers and creators...the best movie...

It's a real story, obviously exaggerated for film, but it's based on a real event the Battle of Thermopylae.

It's based on a comic by Frank Miller which is based on the real event, the battle of Thermopylae. It was part of the Persian Greek wars. Xerxes was a real person but he wouldn't have looked like that. It wasn't literally only 300 men but the Spartans were quite outnumbered. Some aspects of the movie are based on real things and some are just to make it a better story. For example, the character who was a hunchback (I forget his name) is based on a real guy who did betray the Spartans but he wasn't actually hunchback. That's jsut a literary device, making the characters external appearance mirror their inside.

It wasn't just Spartans either. There were other Greeks there as well fighting with the Spartans, as the movie kinda shows. There were several thousand Greeks fighting, not just Sparta and Athens, although it was the Spartans who made the final stand and where wiped out by Persian arrows.

I saw this movie so, many time, i love this movie the photography and speically the chracter of 'Captain' i really admire his acting. In my view this was not happened in reallity, actually shown in the movie but inspiration was shwon how the 300 soldier made hands to each others and decieded to fight against the king 'Xersies', and the thing made them to fight aginst the king was he acclaimed himself the god king. But i think it may really happended in the hisotry that 300 soldier of sparta made Xersies in trouble who thought no one can even dare to fight against him, really wounder full and watche able movie.
