I am also a fan of Fall Out Boy and Green Day, and I did like both of the albums that you mentioned, although I did not like Infinity on High as much as I had liked previous albums. I did not think that the album was too commercial, as I felt that From Under the Cork Tree sounded much more pop-friendly than Infinity on High. I don't think that the disappointment stems completely from the music itself, but from a slight letdown after the anticipation of the new album. From Under the Cork Tree was an entire album of songs that I absolutely LOVED, a major progression from Fall Out Boy's previous albums, and so I expected the same from Infinity on High. While it did have some songs that I really loved, I found myself regularly skipping 3-4 songs on the album. To me, that was a disappointment as I was waiting for an amazing album, and I didn't feel that it had delivered.
However, after some time had passed and I listened to it again, with lower expectations, I found myself enjoying it much more than I had before. I think all of the build up to the album just set people up for disappointment. Same with the Green Day album, I am sure.

We have the same taste because I freaking love fall out boy and Green day. Their song are very catchy and nice to hear. Been listening to them since they first came out.
Some of the songs played by them are really stupid but cool :D

I've been listening to Fall Out Boy since their first album and I have to say that Infinity on High is not their greatest album, in my opinion. Some of the songs on it are just okay, it's not a cd that I can listen to over and over again while liking every song like From Under the Cork Tree. Infinity isn't bad album, they just changed their sound a little bit which is normal because it's a different album and was a different time in their life.
