Faith is Personal?

faith is there and to some extent you have to be that faith instead of having faith aside..a little prayer helped me to survive after my mom told me to meditate to GOD...just check my topics for more..

hi zandi, if u are asking about the faith to god, then my first and straight answer is no. i have no faith and belief in god. i am a atheist. few years ago i was also a religious person and had more faiths to god. but now, totaly not. there is also a cause, which turned me to an atheist. perhaps u have not forgotten one of my discussions about suicide. there i mentioned about deep ( my friend) who committed suicide by hitting his bike to a running truck from front side. will u believe that his mother heard that death sentence of her son in a namghar( a religious house of village where god is worshipped). all the females of our village were praying god at that time, my mother also there. why that mother heard that death news of her son in a namghar where she was in pray. i think if there is god, he definitly not in favour of us. from that time i am suspicious for his existance and now i have studied a lot about his existance. i have proved myself that there is no god at all. zandi, i am too weak to write a long response in english. so there may occure some mistakes. please forgive me and if u believe your god, then i have nothing to say. i have no intention to motivate anyone towards my opinion. thanks.

Hi zandi thanks for sharing your views here. I agree with you, I am Hindu, we have tons of gods and goddesses, we have large number of godmen and godwomen too. Here too I find large number of aged persons usully 50+ in the temples and(my view lol) but as they mature, they do. C heers religious gatherings. When young people usully don't think about god

You may be right in saying that fear of death may be the incentive for renewal of faith but the other reasons may be that as we age we become wiser and our minds and hearts may open a little more to the things that we cannot see.

When we are younger we live more for material things and pleasure and our life style is more hedonistic but as we mature we see the value in our families and the love we feel for them and tend to analyse our lives to learn whether we have lived our purpose and wonder if is too late if we have not done so. At an older age most of us have experienced Divine Intervention at some point during our lives and as we look in retrospect we may want to learn more about the power of God.

They say WISDOM comes with age and so it may be about life and the here after.

Non believers all their life find now as the clock of life ticks to an end they wonder, What Now, and belief, Church, Prayer all seem to be part of this.

I call him GOD, He is ALL, He is Everything, I do not need to look for him as HE has always been with me, and so as my time comes to a close, I have no Questions to ask HIM, As I know all will be explained in HIS time.

There is a fear of the unknown to many, but to those who believe in a Creator, an ALL MIGHTY, We don't have these problems and others can see why we are so calm about all this.

Everything in HIS time, to me that's OK.

OH, by the way HE has many names, and many MEN of many Nations and Cultures have their Name for HIM and I'm OK with that also.

HE is the same and HE is the ONE, To me HE is GOD.

You are right in your observation that you may find more citizens at religious places and at religious congregations than the younger lot. I think as one gets older the burden of responsibilities on him/her gets lessen. When one is young, one gets married and brings up children, settles them and then marries them and once children are settled and married, one feels that his prime responsibilities are over and he has other jobs to attend and he can live his own life, as he wants (may be his grown up sons/daughters get too busy to attend to him) therefore, he turns to religious places. He gets good company of senior citizens over there and he feels comfortable in their company and he can share his joys and sorrows with them. And also when one grows older his desires keep diminishing and may be his will to live get reduced, therefore he turns to God for some peace and solace.

Speaking of faith as you were asking if it is personal for me on my belief yes it is personal. Coming from inside us we believe in one thing and even in our faith within. The only thing that i know is faith is personal. Have a nice day friend!

well there are many example you found around you that atheist started believing in god. According to me insecurity is the main reason behind it. When person is young and able to do everything at that time he doesn't care about anybody.Most of the atheist are of young age or who is having moral support.

When person become older he has to face many limitation. More or little he/she has to depends on others and at that time belief in god provide them moral support.That is my belief.

Its the reason for many of us,, Human nature. But I believe if the people go to temples early in life,,it is easier for those to start back going to God later in life,, I used to attend when I was 3 years I remember,, I still take part in temples,, although it might be in the kitchen mostly

I just think as life gets closer to the end more people are covering all the bases. For me my faith has nothing to do with church or religion. My Hubby who has always been a strong Baptist no longer goes to church, he doesn't want to put up with the politics or social obligations. But I would say his faith is very strong.
