Nuclear War: What would you do |
|
What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and you heard on tv or read in the headlines that A Nuclear War has begun.. Would you be worried? Would you try to move to a neutral country?

littlefranciscan (4682) | 7 months ago | I really don't know if I was expecting that type of answer but in mylot it's free speech just in america and if that is how you want to spend your last minutes, hours..that is fine.. hopefully we wont ever have to worry about such thingss

anniepa (9245) | 7 months ago | I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to make light of a very serious and potentially devastating situation. In all seriousness I certainly hope and pray we never have to find out what we'd REALLY do but from things I've heard and read I think the best thing that could happen would be to die right at the first blast. I wouldn't want to be one of only a few people to have a bomb shelter because life would never be the same. Annie

3. AngryKittyMSV (1871) | 7 months ago | There wouldn't be time to do any of the above. All you COULD do is pray if you are the praying type and hope you are not in the area (or 300 miles or so near) the area being hit. If you KNOW they are coming to your area, all you can do is pray and if there's a bomb shelter, get you & your family into it and hope that if you survive, the aftermath would not cause you to regret having lived.

littlefranciscan (4682) | 7 months ago | I have been browsing through some historical pages and looking at the after effects of Heroshima.. I don't think any bad deed deserves another..I know that Japan came across and bombed us first at Peal Harbor..but don't know that those we killed equalled those we lost..It's just a terrible thing: War.
| |
|
|
Strongheart (1079) | 7 months ago | The Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in a sneak attack and at the time the United States was nuetral concerning the war in the Pacific. While the bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki were devastating, it ended the war and prevented the further loss of American lives. Was it bad? Sure. Was it justified? Totally!
| |
|
|
littlefranciscan (4682) | 7 months ago | I really don't say killing of innocent is ever justified..it was retaliation..but that so many lives..innocent were taken..how can you say this is justification? How can anyone who loves life say death is justified in any form?
| |
|
|
Strongheart (1079) | 7 months ago | It was not retalliation. It was a pre-planned excercise that could have been halted by the Japanese if they agreed to cease hostilities. they chose not to end the war so we made it too costly for them to continue. God bless the women and children who died but every soldier was once a child and came from a mother!

littlefranciscan (4682) | 7 months ago | Two wrongs never make a right..God never made men and women to fight each other..it's not the way God wants it.
| |
|
|
Strongheart (1079) | 7 months ago | Not the way God wants it? Kids are starving in Africa. Natural disasters wipe out whole communities and leave people suffering. Children die. People suffer. Stuff happens. I don't really think God's listening to us say this is not what He wants. Everything happens for a reason and has a purpose, His purpose, whether good or bad. I tried to complain but it seems His inbox is full and He's not returning calls which question His will and purpose. Therefore I am not inclined to believe that this is not what He wants.
Did you ever stop to consider that just maybe, God accidentally sent a busload of angels to these cities and decided it was time for them to come home so He had Japan attack Pearl Harbor to set in motion the events which transpired?
Probably not and neither did I till just now. The point is, what God wants or does not want is evident everyday when things happen whether they are good or bad because He has the power to stop them if it's not what He wants! Your statement simply supports the fact that we do not want our God to want such things because we do not understand nor like them!

littlefranciscan (4682) | 7 months ago | God gave us all free will ..He will not put food in our mouth but provides it.. We know right from wrong..God is not be blamed for misuse of our free will
| |
|
|
Strongheart (1079) | 7 months ago | I agree with you about free will.
But free will did not create hurricanes, famine, drought, plague, disease carrying insects or any of the other natural causes of human suffering and demise. God did!
God is a kid with a magnifying glass and an ant farm. Sure, He loves us and would be sad if His ant farm were to be destroyed but it doesn't stop Him from experimenting with his magnifying glass and sunshine, sunshine.

4. Biomechanoid (220) | 7 months ago | First of all, I think there isn't neutral countries, because the nuclear war will affect every single country. Nuclear fallout will stay in atmosphere for a long time, damaging everything living. Nuclear war will also devastate whole climate and people wouldn't survive long. Would I be worried? Yeees, very much. But I think if I was in the target area, I couldn't do anything to save myself. Nuclear warhead is faster than any mean of transport!:D I would try to find some place that is more secure than others (basement?) and take most important things and people with me. But anyway, let's hope there will never be such a terrible disaster on earth:)

littlefranciscan (4682) | 7 months ago | Nuclear war would indeed affect so many people. .. And I am constant praying about the situation in North Korea. I wonder if the Leader over Korea thinks of the long term affects of one nuclear bomb..Perhaps he is trying to commit suicide and take many others with him.

5. Strongheart (1079) | 7 months ago | Even a nuclear war in countries far away from the United States would have long term negative global effects. Nuclear fallout from global winds would poison water supplies and kill off plants and animals. Depending on the amount of weapons used, the ash alone in the sky would blot out the sun and send the entire planet into an ice age. No sense in being woriied and no place would be safe. Live for today, pray for tomorrow and cherish yesterday!

7. DuoMaxwell (765) | 7 months ago | Not good. This isn't good at all.
Thanks to North Korea's nuclear tomfoolery we might almost be getting there.
I've already seen "The Day After", Threads, played DEFCON: Everybody Dies, seen Bert the Turtle in "Duck and Cover", watched WarGames, watched those "Protect and Survive" clips on Youtube, and even got PDF pamphlets and books from Scribd about nuclear warfare, so yes, i'm worried, and concerned. I'm still saving enough money to get a new home for rent, but as for moving to a neutral country while there's a DEFCON-1-level, artificial-mass-extinction event wiping out the human race, there's more to it than that.
If I had the money, yes, i'd move to a neutral country like Switzerland, the only neutral country since WWII, but i'll also have to move deep underground to a subterranean area for maximum protection there like a subway area, a fallout shelter, a basement, etc. I already stocked up with rechargeable batteries and battery chargers for a radio, and a backup battery for my netbook while i'm deep underground. I also stocked up on fresh bottles of water, the human equivalent of alkaline batteries during that time. Preparation is one of the keys to survival though, and ive been downloading all sorts of info as I said just in case of such an emergency.
Go to Youtube and look up "The Last Broadcast", or find it in MP3 form. Chilling radio broadcast by Canadian students. Almost gave me the all-out chills in the end.

| 8. leocbrito (35) | 6 months ago | I don't think this will happen, but knowing that with the actual technology, a single nuclear bomb can destroy the whole world, I'll be extremelly worried if I hear about a Nuclear War! The fear will be so big that I really won't know what to do... maybe just think in all my life and pray for the best..
