Which one last longer, LCD or Plasma? |
|
Today, my friend and I browse Best Buy for while. We noticed that many people are getting a flat screen TV. Because the price is getting cheaper and cheaper everyday. I had considered to get myself one too. My friend told me that LCD is more expensive than Plasma, because LCD is last longer more likely than Plasma. Is that a truth?

I would suggest an LCD tv for most things, and the only reason you should get plasma is for the sheer speed of it. Nowadays with the high speed LCD that just came out (240Hz etc.) there is little reason to go with plasma besides the fact that it sounds cool to your friends.

LCDs and LEDs are now the new thing in television technology. LCD's are highly likely cheaper than LED's and are probably more popular. It really depends on what you're buying the TV for - just to watch some TV shows, gaming, movies, etc. For me and my bf - we bought the TV for gaming (we got a PS3 too). We got an LG LCD - with Blu-Ray movies, WOW! Crystal Clear! Great TV- I must say.
If you don't need one - don't buy one. The technology will just keep on improving.
P.S. I do think that BEST BUY is the most overpriced electronic store. What state do you live in? Is there a FRY'S electronics? Try them - they're usually no-hassle, and fairly priced. I'd also recommend purchasing from the internet - but make sure you do your research on the TV and go to either Best Buy or whatever electronic store to check out the TV before purchasing it online.

MetricJester (131) | 6 months ago | Here in Niagara Region, Canada, Best Buy is the better buy for LCDs, but not for plasma. We also have a Future Shop (which is now owned by best buy), that often has better prices than Best buy. WE have a local electronics store as well, and their prices seem to be the post expensive, but they offer rentals, layaways and payment plans (buy now, pay later)
