ME! ok i'm blowing my own trumpet again AND i have good reason to, just 2 weeks ago i has this nightmare accident with my beloved laptop, i was in the hospital recovering from my surgery, still feeling slightly groggy and bored, so i decided to play some computer games, as i was plugging it in, i saw it slip off the bed (in slow motion) and crash to the floor, i tried to grab it but it just went, we all know how hard them floors are in hospitals, i was like......Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, yet again in slowmo, lol, and when i picked it up, the screen was badly damaged, it's an LCD screen and i could see the crack move further and further to the middle, i use this laptop for work too and without it i would not pay my bills, so you can imagine my horror when it dropped and smashed like that, i was GUTTED, this is when i started to curse myself calling myself all the names under the sun for being so stupid, cutting it short, when i got home i ordered another screen, brand new on ebay for £60.00, yep, very reasonable for a laptop screen, WELL, this morning it arrived and GUESS WHAT? i fixed it myself, i am not technically minded and i certainly do not know how to maintain anything computery, but i DID IT.....with a little help from a video of how to replace a screen of course, but just a few nights ago i dreamed that i was ficing it and i dreamed this twice in one night, i am so proud of myself and i have just saved myself £100 by doing it myself, i have been using a friends laptop for the past 2 weeks and i really do want to give it back, (just incase of any mishaps) so now i can, so i am one happy bunny today, i did this all by myself and it worked as soon as i hit the ON button, now it's only 8.35am here and i am still sleepy and i have not had a coffee yet, but this little task has just made me wake up fast and i am ecstatic, (says to self) "who needs a coffee fix" lol, so now i am going to treat myself to that coffee for being such a clever clogs, i just wanted to share this with you because i have achieved something today and learned something new about computer maintainance, so now i have told you all, i am going to make that well deserved coffee.....have a great day all, i am in such a great mood i could go out and rip spuds up from the ground....

Well you are really very clever and very talented, there is nothing you can't do so well done to you girl, clever clogs but don't ripping spuds out from the ground before you a mug of coffee and something to eat. I felt like that when I've done something really great on my computer too. Love and hugs.

13. Opal26 (9737) | 6 months ago | Hey tatty! Well Congrats to you! You go girl! I am so proud of you! I don't think I would have been able to do that fix! I get so flustered and nervous when I have to do something important like that! I get all crazy and upset that I make myself sick and then end up making matters worse so I am really envious that you were able to do something like all by yourself! You do deserve that cuppa and more! And also, I do hope that your surgery went well and that you're feeling better and that things will be ok for you now! I will be praying for you. Hugs & Love, Opal

14. flutterbykisses (444) | 6 months ago | Hi tatty...and way to go!!!!!
I don't know that I would ever be able to do something like that or not. Sometimes the unattainable is just that for me...LOL It gives us such a great feeling when we do something that surprises us and saves us money to boot.
It was nice you had a neighbor to lend you a hand while yours was broke. If something would happen to my computer I don't know what I would do. There is no way I would have the money to purchase a new one and I probably wouldn't even have the money for any major repairs. So I treat mine with kid gloves and hope it last me for awhile.

GardenGerty (20240) | 6 months ago | I know how you feel there. I keep on with my older machine, my laptop had problems previously, and we did a lot of things to fix it. People kept telling us to give up and get a new one. They said it was not worth fixing or keeping. It was not a big problem when we were directed to the right repair place. I do not know what I will do when it dies.

flutterbykisses (444) | 6 months ago | Me either GardenGerty. I sure will not be able to afford one right away. I guess maybe the smart thing to do is start saving a little at a time and then when mine goes kaflooey I may just have ennough saved to buy another one. I will be lost I know that because this is about the only hobby I have is my computer.

It is great that you had the cash to get what you needed for your laptop. I would be lost if confronted with such a problem on my computer.Have a cup of coffee for me. I am sleepy and I am going to go to bed. Everytime I learn a new skill, or accomplish something that I thought I could not, I feel like I am ten feet tall.

17. kijiky (582) | 6 months ago | hey maybe you should take a class about computer repair. Maybe it could earn you more money than your regular job. Maybe it is something you should think about since you handled that so easy. By the way Great Job.

KrazyKlingon (3171) | 6 months ago | Quite often, especially when you have not undertaken something like this, it sounds like it would be complicated, & then when actually doing it, it does turn out easier than you thought.
